Today, the Archdiocese of Jaro remembers the death anniversary of a great teacher, communicator, and shepherd — Most Rev. José María Cuenco, D.D. (1885–1972), our first Archbishop and one of the brightest lights of catechesis in the Philippine Church.

Archbishop Cuenco believed that evangelization must reach beyond the pulpit — through schools, media, and every means possible. Through his pioneering works: the Pius XII Catechetical Institute, the Jaro Archdiocesan Commission on Catechesis and Catholic Education, and the Veritas Tri-Media Apostolate, he showed that teaching the Gospel can take many creative and modern forms.

As we remember his life and legacy, may we be inspired to carry on his mission: to teach with clarity, proclaim with courage, and communicate with love. 💛📖🔥

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

In the radiant spirit of service and excellence, the halls of Pius XII College once again come alive with resounding cheers and vibrant colors as the 2025 Pacellians Sportsfest and Foundation Day unfolds. This grand celebration is more than just a showcase of athletic prowess.

As students stride across the fields and courts, they do so not only to win medals, but to honor the 𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒄𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒃𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑 𝑱𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂 𝑪𝒖𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒐, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 that Pius XII College continues to uphold. With the theme, “𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒄𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑷𝒊𝒖𝒔 𝑿𝑰𝑰 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑺𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓,” this year’s celebration ignites a flame of passion and camaraderie.
