With this year's theme, "Clean Seas for Resilient Communities," our members join the university's Office of the Pollution Control Officer and the Community Extension Services in collecting trash in the coastal areas of Brgy. Sto. Niรฑo Sur, Arevalo, Iloilo City.

This activity is in line with the celebration of the National Maritime Week 2026 and Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2026.

Together, we're taking action to protect our oceans and waterways. Let's continue to be the change we wish to sea!

๐๐ž๐ฒ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐†๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ฌ โ€ข Polaris Alumni Completed Their Pre-Joining Training at Xiamen, China

D/C Advincula, Janeo, and Dolendo successfully completed the 15-day U-Ming Marine 2026 2H Cadets Pre-joining Training in Xiamen, China.

The training included physical exercises and classes on mental health and the four pillars of IMO โ€” SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC, and STCW.

As a treat for the trainees, their company (U-Ming Marine Transport Corporation) also arranged a tour of Gulangyu Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Fujian Province.

Congratulations to Mdpn. Ozzy Esmero of Polaris 1A, for clinching 1st Place in the Freestyle Innovation category!

He represented our university, together with Kyiv Italia, at the 5th Regional Robolution: Cordillera Administrative Region โ€“ Robotics & Automation Competition 2026, held on September 4, 2026, at the University of Baguio.

His teamโ€™s project "BANTAY" also won the Leading Edge International Aviation Academy, Inc. (LEIAA) Choice Award.

Embodying this spirit of growth, Mdpn. Carlos Manuel Maรฑas of Polaris 3B has been chosen to represent John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. for a visit to Ariake Shoji Co., Ltd. in Japan.

The university proudly announced his selection at the Academic Exchange and Research Forum held in the JBL Hall, as part of Japan Maritime Learning Opportunity Program.

To enhance the students' knowledge, the Unit Research Office of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), spearheaded by Engr. Roderick R. Germo, Ph.D., conducted a In-house Research Capability Training and Workshop, with the theme: "Anchoring Research Excellence: Building Capacity for Innovation, Collaboration, and Global Maritime Education," on August 20, 2026, at JBL Hall.

This activity equipped our members, as front-line students, with robust data-driven methodologies and structured knowledge in research, specifically in qualitative research.

Armed with these new tools, our members are now prepared to polished their research outputs for the world to see.

He was the only student backed by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VI. Accompanying him were our Unit Research Coordinator, Engr. Roderick R. Germo, Ph.D., and Unit Education AI Coordinator, Mrs. Jaya Aubrey Cortel.

To compete against more than 20 clubs and organizations is a tough battle to win. As Ugyon Marino 2026 closed its doors for this year, the Polaris Class secured the Overall Championship.

This result comes from the steady hard work of our class, which spent hours preparing for this event. We thank the other clubs and organizations for a competition that made us work harder.

This title belongs to every Polaris Class members who stayed late, practiced beyond academic hours, managed intensive review sessions, and crafted our propsโ€”hustling on the streets from buying glue sticks to contact lenses, hosting events to wearing our official sash, and switching roles from dancing to pulling heavy mooring ropes, and so much more.

We receive this award with gratitude and will use it to keep improving.

Thank you to our advisers and alumni for your guidance and unwavering support.

Not even a torrential downpour could stop our Polaris freshies. Showing true grit, they braved the weather. They conquered every obstacle during the Community Service and Inception Day (CSID) 2026 and the Stellar Induction Rites last August 6, 2026, at the JBLFMU (Arevalo) Grounds.
