"Let's unite as we continue the legacy of THNHS. As your new principal, I cannot do it alone," newly installed Teodoro Hernaez National High School (THNHS) Principal II Ronaldo A. Dalit told faculty and staff as he outlined his leadership priorities during his first faculty meeting, emphasizing teamwork, accountability, and shared commitment toward school improvement.
The three-hour meeting opened with a self-introduction of all employees, allowing the new school head to become acquainted with the faculty and staff before discussing key institutional concerns and priorities.
Dalit reminded employees of their roles and responsibilities before Mr. Aaron James Cadano presented updates on the upcoming Siglat Festival. The principal also discussed recent teachers' training initiatives and highlighted the importance of applying new learning and best practices in classroom instruction.
Department Heads Donabelle Q. Baguitan and Marivic Barnachea presented updates from the Junior High School and Senior High School departments, followed by reports from the school's Learning Area Coordinators on instructional programs, curriculum implementation, and academic concerns.
Program coordinators likewise presented updates, with Mary Kay Ricarze discussing the ARAL Program, Marivic Barnachea reporting on class program adjustments, and Dalit outlining the schedule of collaborative expertise sessions, lesson plan submission, and the rearrangement of faculty rooms to improve workplace organization.
Reports from various school offices were also tackled, including SNED, ALS, Guidance, Clinic, SSLG), YES-O, BKB, and the school canteen, which included financial updates and operational concerns.
To further strengthen school management, Dalit introduced the Contest for Most Improved Area, encouraging offices and classrooms to maintain organized, functional, and learner-friendly environments. Plans for the rearrangement of classrooms were likewise presented in preparation for the regular conduct of classes.
Financial matters were also discussed as Crispa Jesusa Cudiamat and Roland Abaya presented the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) updates for the Junior High School and Senior High School, respectively.
One of the meeting's major highlights was Dalit's discussion on the forthcoming issuance of designation orders, coordinatorships, committee assignments, and other school responsibilities, stressing that leadership should be anchored on teamwork and service rather than position.
An open forum followed, allowing faculty and staff to raise concerns, clarify issues, and identify school needs before concluding with preparations for the weekly flag-raising ceremony and other matters.
Dalit expressed optimism that through cooperation, discipline, and collective commitment, THNHS would continue to improve its programs and services, urging every employee to contribute toward a stronger and more united school community. #
