The MSU-IIT Muslim Students’ Association (MIMSA) actively took part in the 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐦 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 held on 𝐴𝑢𝑔𝑢𝑠𝑡 18-20, 2026, 𝑎𝑡 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑖 𝐵𝑒𝑎𝑐ℎ 𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑟𝑡 𝑖𝑛 𝐶𝑎𝑔𝑎𝑦𝑎𝑛 𝑑𝑒 𝑂𝑟𝑜 𝐶𝑖𝑡𝑦. This conference was made possible by the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘀 - 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 (𝗡𝗖𝗠𝗙-𝟭𝟬), 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀. The conference was attended by 31 Muslim Youth from 15 different student organizations, and community groups.

The 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 was held to equip young Muslims with skills in leadership, peacebuilding, and community development. Through interactive workshops and lectures, attendees explored topics like mental health, legal rights, heritage preservation, and conflict resolution. The program also featured a vibrant Cultural Night where delegates shared cultural traditions and celebrated Moro identity.

The MIMSA delegates, 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗮 𝗢𝘀𝗼𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗵 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗼, together with delegates from various youth organizations, pitched a project proposal titled “𝙃𝑬𝘼𝑹𝙞𝒕𝙖𝒈𝙚: 𝑷𝙧𝒆𝙨𝒆𝙧𝒗𝙞𝒏𝙜 𝑴𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒘 𝙃𝒐𝙣𝒐𝙧, 𝑫𝙞𝒈𝙣𝒊𝙩𝒚, 𝙖𝒏𝙙 𝙊𝒓𝙖𝒍 𝑾𝙞𝒔𝙙𝒐𝙢 𝘼𝒄𝙧𝒐𝙨𝒔 𝑮𝙚𝒏𝙚𝒓𝙖𝒕𝙞𝒐𝙣𝒔.” The proposed seminar-workshop aims to bridge Maranao youth and cultural elders by providing a space for young participants to learn, practice, and preserve essential oral traditions such as Pananaroon, Kambayoka, and Salsila. Through intergenerational knowledge-sharing and engagement, the initiative seeks to empower the youth to become active advocates in preserving and carrying Maranao cultural heritage forward for future generations.

𝘈𝘭𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘩, 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘩, the proposal was awarded the 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 ₱𝟱𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗖𝗠𝗙 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟭𝟬. Adding to this blessing, one of our dedicated MIMSA members, 𝗦𝗮𝘂𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗰, also won the 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙙 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙.

By joining this regional gathering, MIMSA demonstrates its ongoing mission to shape values-driven Muslim student leaders. The organization bridges the gap between campus and community, empowering youth to engage in nation-building without losing touch with their spiritual and cultural roots.

The MSU-IIT Muslim Students' Association (MIMSA) successfully had a wonderful Welcoming Week journey from August 12-14, 2026. Guided by the theme “𝗣𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻: 𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗮, 𝗞𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮, 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻,” our Bahay-Kubo became a little space for sharing Islamic perspectives, celebrating Muslim Filipino culture, and building connections with the new Muslim students in MSU-IIT.

Alongside the excitement, we were blessed with the opportunity to showcase our cultural food like Filipino kakanin, Muslim attire try-ons, Listen to Qur'an activity, photo booth sessions, and unique finds such as ethnic wallets and bags, ethnic ID lanyards and shirts coming from the province of Tugaya, Lanao del Sur, Palestine pins, Islamic books, and more.

Alhamdulillāh, beyond the fun, laughter, and hard work, our purpose remained at the heart of everything we did— to connect with our fellow freshies, welcome them into our community, and share the beauty of Islam through Da’wah. Truly, this is what MIMSA stands for: spreading our Deen, building meaningful connections, and supporting our fellow Muslim students in the campus.

Ilang araw nalang ay magkakasalamuha ulit tayo. Huwag kalimutang makibaka sa iba’t ibang organisasyon, kasabay ng pakikiisa sa ating mga kapwa. Meanwhile, your resident org has diligently prepared activities and gimmicks for an engaging space during the exciting first week of your college year!

Marami sa mga usaping kinakaharap ng lipunan ngayon ay may kaugnayan sa mga bagong ideya, pananaw, at simbolong unti-unting nagiging bahagi ng ating pang-araw-araw na pamumuhay. Dahil dito, mahalagang magkaroon tayo ng tamang kaalaman at mas malalim na pag-unawa, lalo na ang mga kabataang Muslim, upang maging mapanuri sa mga impormasyong ating nababasa, napapanood, at naririnig.

Sa layuning ito, malugod namin kayong inaanyayahan sa webinar na "Ang Bolotho Bilang Simbolo at Diskurso," kasama si G. Saadodin C. Maylao. Sa pamamagitan ng isang payak at akademikong talakayan sa wikang Filipino, bibigyang-linaw ang mga napapanahong konsepto at pananaw na may kaugnayan sa paksa, upang makatulong sa pagbuo ng mas malawak na pag-unawa at responsableng pag-iisip.

This summit seeks to encourage participants to view the beginning of the academic year as an opportunity to renew their commitment to both academic excellence and the pursuit of beneficial Islamic knowledge. It also aims to equip Muslim women with Islamic principles, discipline, and leadership qualities that will enable them to positively influence their campuses, organizations, and communities.

As a new academic year begins, students, educators, and professionals alike often find themselves occupied with the demands of study, work, and daily life. Amid these responsibilities, the pursuit of Islamic knowledge is frequently postponed until schedules become less demanding.

This summit seeks to 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲.
