The Instituteโs strategic planning for its future infrastructure projects is moving full steam ahead!
The Office of Institute Planning and Development Services (OIPDS) sat down with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in preparation for MSU-IITโs Budget Proposal for Fiscal Year 2027. This crucial coordination meeting was held specifically to secure the necessary requirements for proposed infrastructure projects of the University.
In addition, the OIPDS, in close coordination with the Civil Engineering Department (COE), conducted a strategic benchmarking visit to the renowned Kauswagan Boardwalk in Lanao del NorteโRegion Xโs longest coastal walkway, as part of the design and planning process of our proposed Wharf Facility for the MSU-IIT Research Vessel at Fuentes, Maria Cristina, Iligan City.
Once realized, this durable and compliant wharf facility at Fuentes will establish a massive support base for marine research, monitoring, and extension activities. It is expected to revolutionize practical learning for our Marine Biology students by providing:
-Expedited Field Research: A centralized, safe platform to launch research vessels and conduct immediate marine sample collections. -Enhanced Data Collection: A permanent, secure station for deploying and retrieving delicate oceanographic instruments and monitoring equipment.
- Practical Training: A real-world environment for students and researchers to practice coastal engineering and marine conservation techniques.
- Safe Operations: Secure docking, loading, and unloading of heavy research equipment and personnel.
The Institute looks forward to pushing through these planning phases, bringing our researchers and the Marine Biology department closer to the water than ever before.
Exciting times are ahead for MSU-IIT!

A day before the Universityโs 2025 year-end assessment, top management came together for a strategic management review to take stock of progress and align on the path ahead. OQUAMS presented the university internal audit update, while OIPDS led a deep dive into our institutional KPIs under the 5-Year Development Plan (2022โ2026).
More than a review, the session shaped bold initiatives and renewed momentum, laying a strong foundation for the final year of our 5-Year Development Plan and reinforcing our commitment to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Letโs take a look back at last yearโs Year-End Performance Assessment.
On December 16โ17, 2025, ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ ๐ข๐ ๐๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ฌ -๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐๐๐ฌ (๐๐๐๐๐-๐๐๐๐๐) hosted the 2025 Year-End Performance Assessment at the MSU-IIT Gymnasium, reflecting on our progress as we approach the final year of the 5-Year Development Plan. Discussions went beyond institutional KPIs to include financial performance, infrastructure updates, and office-led initiatives that are shaping the universityโs path forward.
The assessment also considered the experiences of the entire MSU-IIT community, surfacing challenges, celebrating practices that are already working, and exploring how these can be strengthened, scaled, or replicated across the Institute.
As insights emerged and reflections deepened, the path became clear: MSU-IIT must act decisively, learn from what works, and embrace a shared vision for the future.
What we commit to today will define MSU-IIT beyond 2026.

Hello, MSU-IIT Community!
Weโre excited to announce that our Year-End Assessment will be held on December 16โ17, 2025, at the MSU-IIT Gymnasium.
This year, weโre keeping it simple and meaningful by celebrating within our campus, in line with DBM Circular Letter No. 2025-11 (dated November 3, 2025), which reminds all agencies to be judicious and prudent in the use of government funds for year-end gatherings.
Why this matters:
We get to celebrate our collective achievements together, right here at home.
Funds from our General Appropriations Act (GAA) will be prioritised for faculty and staff incentives such as CNA, SRI, and other benefits and gratuities.
Letโs come together to reflect on our milestones, recognise our hardworking community, and look forward to an even brighter 2026!
Save the dates: December 16โ17, 2025
Venue: MSU-IIT Gymnasium
See you there, MSU-IIT family!

End of the week!
Wrapped up our two-day deliberation of the Work and Financial Plans Proposals for FY 2027 on November 20โ21 with our clusters (OVCIA, OVCAF, OVCRE, OVCAA) and their offices.
Over the sessions, we reviewed programs, projects, and activities with the vice chancellors, office heads, and financial assistants , identifying areas for improvement and addressing recurring office concerns. This includes navigating some new features of our newly deployed iPLAN.iit โ the automated Work and Financial Plan system that replaced our previous Google Sheet/ Excel setup.
As they say, โChange is toughโฆ but staying the same is tougher.โ
Next week, itโs the turn of the remaining clusters (OVCSI, OC, OVCPA, OVCSS). Looking forward to another productive round! ๐

On September 11, 2025, we conducted a Zoom meeting attended by our Chancellor and all Vice Chancellors.
The main agenda focused on the Final Review of the Work and Financial Plans (WFP) for Fiscal Year 2026. We thoroughly examined the major Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) for 2026โidentifying what should be prioritized, what still needs to be included, and what we might have overlooked. The discussion also centered on how these initiatives can further strengthen our institute and align with our long-term development goals.
This careful planning process is vital to ensure that resources are maximized and that our strategies will create meaningful and lasting impact in the coming year.
