Empowering inclusion begins with understanding our rights and our shared responsibility to uphold them.

Yesterday, July 23, 2026, the MSU IIT - Center for Learning and Academic Support Services (CLASS) and the Career Center, under the MSU IIT Student Services of MSU-IIT, successfully conducted a webinar in observance of the 48th National Disability Rights Week, an annual celebration spearheaded by the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA).

Anchored on this year’s theme, “Rights First, Legislation Forward: Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development,” the webinar highlighted the employment rights of persons with disabilities, reasonable accommodation, inclusive workplace practices, and the vital role of employers and institutions in creating equitable opportunities for all.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our resource speaker, Engr. Kent Justine Cabañog, for sharing valuable insights that inspired meaningful discussions on disability inclusion and equal employment opportunities.

We also thank our participants, and everyone who contributed to the success of this activity. May this webinar encourage us to move beyond awareness and continue advocating for a society where accessibility, respect, and equal opportunity are not privileges, but fundamental rights.
