HIGHLIGHTS: 4 Days of Reading Engagement at Cabili Village Elementary School📚

The NSTP-LTS students conducted the Adopt-a-Reader Program for the Grade 1-3 learners of Cabili Village Elementary School as part of the Literacy Support Initiative, a short-term reading program designed to engage both developing readers and high-emerging readers through guided reading sessions.

Conducted over four days and concluded on March 17, 2026, the activity provided an opportunity for learners to take part in structured reading engagements, while also giving NSTP-LTS students valuable exposure to community-based literacy facilitation and learner interaction.

This activity was conducted in coordination with Cabili Village Elementary School, headed by School Principal I, Ma'am Marie Ann R. Amesola, with the support of the faculty and staff.

This initiative reflects the continued commitment of NSTP-LTS students in supporting community literacy efforts.

Theory meets practice! After an insightful seminar, our NSTP students are currently at the SPC Covered Court undergoing practical training on the proper use of fire extinguishers.

The P.A.S.S. Method in Action

This tactical segment ensures that our students are not just informed, but equipped to respond. Participants are mastering the essential steps to fire suppression:

(P) Pull the pin.

(A) Aim at the base of the fire.

(S) Squeeze the lever.

(S) Sweep from side to side.

By bridging the gap between classroom instruction and real-world application, we are fostering a culture of disaster resilience and proactive safety.

JUST IN: Kamalayan 3.2 Commences at SPC

The National Service Training Program (NSTP), in partnership with the SPC Iligan - Supreme Student Council, officially commence the Kamalayan 3.2: Informative Talks on Student Safety and Welfare today at the SPC Covered Court. This symposium serves as a vital platform for civic education, focusing on legal literacy and emergency preparedness.

Key Agenda:
1. Anti-Hazing Act (R.A. 11053): Reinforcing the culture of safety and zero tolerance for fraternity-related violence.

2. Safe Spaces Act (R.A. 11313): Ensuring a campus environment free from gender-based sexual harassment.

3. Fire Safety & Prevention: Equipping students with life-saving skills through expert-led seminars and tactical drills.

By integrating legal awareness with practical safety, we empower our students to be informed, leaders, and vigilant citizens.

ROTC Excellence Reinforced Through Strategic Leadership Visit

St. Peter’s College welcomed COLONEL BERNARD T. RAGUS, Group Commander of the 10th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, who paid a courtesy call to SPC School President PETER DAN P. PUNONGBAYAN, MM, on December 10, 2025 to strengthen collaboration and support for the institution’s ROTC Program. He was accompanied by LTC ROMMEL A. ENDOZO, GSC (ARM) PA, Director of the 1002nd CDC, as they discussed initiatives to enhance program implementation and cadet development.

Following the courtesy call, the Corps briefing was delivered by CDT COL JOHN PETER M. BARAGO, 1CL, Corps Commander of the SPC ROTCU, presenting the corps’ strategic objectives, training programs, and leadership development roadmap for A.Y. 2025–2026. MAJ NIEL KONDRAD D. BINAYAO III (RES) PA, SPC ROTC Unit Commandant, along with the ROTC Command Staff, facilitated the discussion and ensured a productive engagement. Also in attendance were AMER M. ROMINIMBANG, PhD, NSTP Coordinator of Iligan City Polytechnic State College, and Ms. Jill R. Pagsiat, LPT, SPC NSTP Head.

The visit concluded with a shared commitment to advancing ROTC program excellence, enhancing cadet training systems, and promoting stronger civil-military cooperation within the academic community.

The signing took place during the Kamalayan Summit 2025, which also featured insightful discussions on the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 and other key national security matters.
