Ifugao State University (IFSU) conducted a seminar-workshop for the Department of Education (DepEd) โ€“ Division of Ifugao on 03 May 2024 at the Heritage Convention Hall, IFSU Lamut (Main) Campus. The project, titled "Educational Management Excellence through Research & Extension Advancement, and Phronetic Leadership for Development (EMERALD)," focused on "Leading with Excellence: A Phronetic Leadership Seminar-Workshop for the Department of Education, Division of Ifugao."

Dr. Nancy Ann P. Gonzales led the seminar-workshop as the resource speaker and proponent. The event welcomed DepEd-Ifugao's superintendent, Dr. Gloria B. Buya-ao, along with supervisors, principals, and teachers.

The EMERALD project aimed to train DepEd leaders in "phronetic leadership," a concept that emphasizes practical wisdom, moral reasoning, and a deep understanding of the good. The project intends to establish a DepEd-specific framework for phronetic leadership and train school leader researchers to conduct research aligned with DepEd's priorities.
