📍Exploring Possibilities: A Day of Farm Tourism, Learning and Collaboration 🍃

Today, August 12, 2026, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the College of Agriculture and Sustainable Development (CASD), headed by Dr. Florence Nawew-Bahni and Dr. Napoleon Taguiling, together with the program chairpersons and faculty members, conducted an ocular visit and inspection for OJT, Farm Tours, Research, and Extension activities.

Our first stop was Sanctuary Integrated Farm, where we enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast featuring homemade longganisa, farm-produced fried eggs, cocoa, and other local products before proceeding to explore the farm.

We then visited Mynion Homestead Farm, a unique and high-end agricultural destination known for its grapes and various fruit productions. We enjoyed freshly harvested fruits and tasted their delicious mulberry shake.

Next, we headed to Humming Strawberry Farm, where strawberries are among their main products. After exploring the farm, we enjoyed a local snack called moron, paired with refreshing iced lemon-calamansi and iced tea. Truly a delicious and memorable farm experience!

Our next destination was Nic and Jas Berry Farm, located just across from Green Oasis, where we had our lunch. Although it is a smaller farm, it offered a wonderful experience. We were welcomed with fried mushrooms paired with fresh sugarcane juice. We also explored their mulberry farm, where we had the opportunity to pick and taste fresh mulberries.

At The Green Oasis of Dupax, we experienced a delightful five-course meal featuring kamote soup, sibuyas pandesal, green salad with calamansi vinaigrette, pinakbet pasta, and spinach pizza, paired with refreshing blue ternate juice. For dessert, we enjoyed ginger sherbet, followed by tarragon and mint tea. It was truly a unique gastronomic experience showcasing local and farm-produced ingredients.

Our final stop was Rockwoods Agritourism Park and Peace Sanctuary, a fascinating destination nestled in a rocky mountain landscape. The farm features a natural pool, abundant coconut trees, and what can truly be described as a food forest in the mountains. We also tasted their bamboo shoot shanghai paired with fresh buko.

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected circumstance, we were unable to proceed with our planned last stop the Courage Mt Integrated Farm. Nevertheless, the entire day was filled with learning, discovery, great food, and meaningful experiences.

A heartfelt thank you to all the members of the NVFTSA , especially Ma’am Marilyn and Ma’am Joylyn, for accompanying and assisting us throughout the entire tour. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Ma’am Marie Curie for preparing dinner for us.

This ocular visit was more than just a tour it was an opportunity to learn, connect, appreciate local agriculture, discover sustainable practices, and explore possibilities for OJT, farm tourism, research, and extension.

Maraming salamat! 🌱🍓🍇🌿
Indeed, a day well spent learning beyond the classroom! 💚

Pagpupugay at Pasasalamat kay Former University President Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon. 💐
