On March 16, 2026, the Dare to Care Program of Kinakin National High School, through the initiative of Ms. Christina Dulnuan, Dare to Care Program Coordinator, handed over ₱11,500 to the mother of Daniel Mayuchog, a Grade 7 student who is currently recovering and undergoing follow-up check-ups at R2TMC until October 2026.

This initiative reflects the school’s commitment to extending support to learners in times of need and promoting a culture of compassion within the community. The assistance aims to help the family with ongoing medical expenses during this challenging time.

The family continues to seek prayers for Daniel’s recovery, and donations are still being accepted for his ongoing medical needs. The KiNHS community sincerely thanks everyone who has extended support and generosity for this cause. Your kindness has made a meaningful difference in the life of one of our learners.

Kinakin National High School Conducts Literacy and Numeracy Assessment for Grade 11 Students

KINAKIN, BANAUE — Kinakin National High School conducted the Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (LNA) for Grade 11 students on March 11, 2026, as part of the Department of Education (DepEd) initiative to evaluate learners’ foundational skills in reading and mathematics.

The assessment aimed to measure the students’ literacy skills, including reading comprehension and interpretation of texts, as well as their numeracy skills, particularly in solving mathematical problems and understanding numerical concepts. The activity was held within the school campus and was supervised by Ms. Aiza Bunnag and Ms. Christina Dulnuan to ensure the smooth and orderly administration of the test.

Teachers carefully facilitated the testing process, ensuring that all students followed the assessment guidelines. The students actively participated and completed the examination within the allotted time.

The implementation of the LNA reflects the school’s commitment to strengthening academic excellence and learner development, aligned with the goals of the Department of Education in enhancing literacy and numeracy among Filipino learners.

Kinakin National High School Celebrates Women’s Month,Conducts Safety Drills

KINAKIN, BANAUE — Kinakin National High School successfully held a combined celebration of Women’s Month, IEC on Fire Prevention, Earthquake Drill, and the SSLG Turn-over Ceremony on March 11, 2026, at the gymnasium.

The program began with the singing of the national anthem led by Grade 12 student Lib-ay Jane Beniahan, followed by the opening prayer by Hannah Piggingon, a Grade 11 student. The welcome remarks were delivered by Vianny Charisma Guiab, the school’s Administrative Officer.

One of the highlights of the program was the presentation of the accomplishments of the outgoing Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) by Pedring Penggngana, followed by the introduction and proper induction of the new SSLG officers led by Hon. Mariano G. Accangan, Barangay Captain. The incoming SSLG president Shanie Ann Pongtachon also delivered her pledge of commitment, while Sherilyn Pinay-an, the incoming vice president, gave her acceptance speech.

The program also featured intermission numbers performed by students Yesha Palina and Aladin Lug-ao of KINHS Duo.

To strengthen disaster preparedness among students and teachers, the school conducted an earthquake and fire drill facilitated by the Banaue Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel together with the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) team headed by School Head David B. Dupyawon Jr.

As part of the Women’s Month celebration, the event included an orientation on fire prevention and an introduction to International Women’s Day led by Christina Dulnuan, the Gender and Development (GAD) Coordinator, and Vianny Charisma Guiab, a GAD member. Grace Marie Beyer introduced the guest speaker Hon. Ayla Gracia P. Pinkihan, a content creator and entrepreneur, who delivered an inspiring message about women empowerment.

Certificates and tokens of appreciation were awarded to the guest speaker by School Head David B. Dupyawon Jr. The celebration also included a TikTok dance challenge, Zumba dance with the speaker, and the awarding of recognition to women and contest winners.

The program concluded with the closing remarks delivered by Ms. Aiza Bunnag, followed by the closing prayer by Vian Analis Ballatong. The event was hosted by Ms. Danna Abluyen.

The activity aimed to promote women empowerment, leadership among students, and disaster preparedness, highlighting the school’s commitment to holistic education and community engagement.

The celebration will culminate on March 11, 2026, with activities including the Quarter 1 Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), IEC on Fire Prevention, Women’s Month Culmination program, and the SSLG Turnover Ceremony. These activities aim to strengthen disaster preparedness, promote safety awareness, and encourage leadership and inclusivity among learners and staff.

Kinakin NHS Strengthen Literacy Instructions Through Scholastic Monitoring Visit

Sir Vince Casupang, Program Consultant of Scholastic Philippines, visited Kinakin National High School to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Interactive Read-Aloud + Phonics Instruction and Reading Comprehension Skills Instruction program. He was accompanied by Madam Minerva Dinamling.

Following the observation of Ms. Aiza Bunnag’s demonstration teaching, a post-conference meeting was held to provide feedback, discuss key observations, and address concerns related to the program’s implementation.

Kinakin National High School formally marked a change in leadership on Tuesday, January 27, as outgoing school head Michael D. Bumulyad officially turned over responsibilities to the incoming school head, David B. Dupyawon Jr.

The turnover ceremony was held at the school campus and was attended by teachers, staff members, and invited guests. During the event, Bumulyad symbolically handed over school documents and expressed his gratitude to the school community for its support during his term.

In his message, Bumulyad highlighted the accomplishments achieved under his leadership and encouraged continued cooperation with the new school head. He also wished Dupyawon success as he assumes the role.

Dupyawon, in his acceptance remarks, thanked Bumulyad for his service and assured the school community of his commitment to sustaining and improving the school’s academic and administrative programs. He called for unity and collaboration in advancing the school’s goals.
