🌿 Day 01 | Seminar & Training Series Highlights 🌾
Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (RIES) successfully conducted Day 01 of the Seminar and Training Series featuring sessions on “Economic Potential and Basic Enterprise Economics of Selected Bamboo Species” and “Cultivation, Postharvest, and Marketing of Selected Root Crops.”

Among the featured topics and resource persons were the following:

• Fundamentals in Bamboo Production - For. Jessa N. Virtudez, MSc.
• Basic Enterprise Economics in Bamboo - G-mar D. Mondragon, MM-ABM
• Cultivation, Postharvest, and Marketing of Selected Root Crops - Dominador Granada, PhD
The two parallel sessions were participated in by farmers, agripreneurs, MENRO staff, and representatives from civil society organizations (CSOs) who wanted to explore sustainable enterprise opportunities and improve agricultural practices, creating a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.

This initiative contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land)—by promoting climate-smart agriculture, value-adding, and sustainable rural enterprises.

🌱 From knowledge to action—Day 01 sets the foundation for more follow-through activities to be led by our two (2) research and extension centers, namely: SHARE and BioCon, with a shared goal of achieving a sustainable future in the agriculture, forestry, and natural resources (AFNR) sector.
