Himamaylan Central School stands one with the nation in commemorating Autism Consciousness Day 💚🧡💛

The program featured a symposium on Autism awareness delivered by Teacher RD, SNED Teacher, followed by a meaningful art activity where Grade 6 learners were paired and grouped with learners with Autism. During the activity, learners created a friendship handprint art, which symbolizes acceptance, unity, cooperation, and the beauty of embracing differences, reminding everyone that inclusion begins with understanding and friendship.

The program was hosted by Ma’am Bern, SNED Teacher, with heartfelt messages shared by Ma’am Grace Nicavera, CID Chief, and Ma’am Lynee Peñaflor, OIC–SDS. In her message, Ma’am Peñaflor highlighted the importance of understanding our learners with autism—treating them as we do all other learners, with kindness, respect, and acceptance. She also commended the parents for their love, patience, and unwavering support in nurturing and advocating for their children.

Ma’am Jocelyn Barnuevo, Division SNED Focal Person, was also present during the activity, showing support for inclusive education initiatives.

Our heartfelt thanks to Ma’am Leah O. Diaz, our School Principal, for her continuous support and leadership; to the parents for their trust and cooperation; to the Grade 6 advisers for their dedication and guidance; and to our learners, whose participation and enthusiasm made this celebration truly meaningful.
