𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠 (𝗟𝗘𝗣) 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧-𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦

On August 10, 2026, the Laboratory Exposure Training Program was held on GE 1 in the afternoon. The program tackles the important rules and regulations when performing laboratory activity, such as borrowing lab equipment, rules on proper handling, proper use of laboratory equipment, and reminders.

In session 1, the speaker was Ma'am Aileen Remolacio, who tackles the rules and regulations when borrowing lab equipment using a borrowing slip. After, an icebreaker was conducted, in which the students engaged in a partner game, guessing the word written on their back.

In session 2, the speakers are Ms. Candace Arvy Lopez and Ms. Mariela Mae Paloyo. Tackles about proper borrowing of lab equipment, before, during, and after use of laboratory equipment, and proper attire during laboratory activity. In session 3 and session 4, the speaker was Sir Michael Balilo. The session discusses the instrument tour and a hands-on mini activity. Different laboratory equipment and tools were introduced to the student, and an activity was followed to test the student's awareness and knowledge on handling and preparing samples. The event ended by Ma'am Girly Olavario with her closing remark.

Note: No chemicals are used during the activity. The reagents used in the Hands-on Mini Activity were water and food color only and were non-toxic.

The program orientation of food technology students was held on August 10, 2026. The 1st year student was oriented in the morning at ATD 1, while the 2nd to 4th year students were at FTC Hall in the afternoon. The Program Orientation introduce freshies to the Bachelor of Science in Food Technology program, including its curriculum, academic requirements, student expectations, laboratory policies, and other essential information to help them prepare for their journey as food technology students.

The orientation for upper year students cover important academic updates and program concerns, including class schedules and enrollment related concerns, OJT preparation and requirements for 3rd year students, research proposal guidelines and updates for 4th year students, and other important announcements and discussions regarding the Food Technology program.

Due to the suspension of classes on August 5, 2026, The Philippine Association of Food Technologists – Bicol University Guinobatan (PAFT-BUG) Program Orientation and Laboratory Exposure Program was reschedule on August 10, 2026. All enrolled Food Technology students of Bicol University Guinobatan are required to attend the activity.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 1𝘀𝘁 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

🕢 7:30 AM – 12:00 NN | Program Orientation | Auditorium

The Program Orientation will introduce freshies to the Bachelor of Science in Food Technology program, including its curriculum, academic requirements, student expectations, laboratory policies, and other essential information to help them prepare for their journey as Food Technology students.

🧪 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Laboratory Exposure Program (LEP) | GE 1 & GE 2

The Laboratory Exposure Program is exclusive to 1st year students. During this session, students will become familiar with the Food Technology laboratories and learn essential laboratory practices, including:

• Proper laboratory attire and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Laboratory hygiene and safety protocols
• Proper handling and use of common laboratory equipment
• Basic laboratory rules and good laboratory practices

These activities aim to prepare freshmen for safe and efficient laboratory work during their laboratory classes.

📦 Laboratory Kit Distribution
Students who ordered their laboratory kits through the PAFT Up Store may claim their kits after the Laboratory Exposure Program.

The Philippine Association of Food Technologists – Bicol University Guinobatan (PAFT-BUG) will conduct its Program Orientation and Laboratory Exposure Program on August 5, 2026, at the BUG Auditorium. All enrolled Food Technology students of Bicol University Guinobatan are required to attend the activity.

For 1st Year Students

It’s the perfect chance to stay informed, exchange ideas, and strengthen our shared bond as one big PAFT community. Proud to represent our chapter and connect with everyone.
