YES-O conducts the first Landscaping Contest in DNHS

To reignite students’ passion for nature, YES-O conducted the first landscaping contest in DNHS. This activity aimed to promote responsibility and appreciation towards the environment while beautifying the school at the same time. The activity brought together the students from grade 7 to grade 12 and youth members from different school organizations, thus promoting the spirit of collaboration, creativity, and nature appreciation.

A total of fifteen participants took part in the activity. They volunteered their time during the afternoons of a week to brainstorm and prepare their landscaping designs. Every team was encouraged to come up with a plan and implement it as they saw fit using plants, flowers, stones, cements, gravels, paint and other recyclable materials. Students used their imagination and creativity to change unused areas into beautiful green spaces.

The final evaluation and judging took on February 14, aligning with Valentine’s Day celebration. This was very symbolic because it helped reinforce the message sent that love is not just for people but for nature and the school community as well. The judging of the landscapes was based on aesthetic appeal, creativity and originality, sustainability, fubctionality, and maintenance.

The announcement of the winners will be made on February 17, after the flag ceremony.

YES-O's first clean-up drive of 2025 was a success!

On January 10th, we witnessed the power of community action as our YES-O officers led a successful clean-up drive at Dungawan NHS. The collective effort brought a renewed sense of pride and responsibility towards our environment, transforming Dungawan NHS into a cleaner, greener space.

Huge thanks to our dedicated YES-O officer's who showed their commitment to a cleaner and healthier Dungawan NHS. Your kindness and dedication made all the difference.
