The Guimaras State University (GSU) delegation actively participated in the Government Service Fair: Agri-Fishery Research Forum, one of the major activities of Manggahan Festival 2026, held on May 20, 2026, at the BPI-GNCRDPSC Function Hall, San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.
โ
โThe forum gathered researchers, government agencies, farmers, fisherfolks, and stakeholders to share valuable research findings and practical innovations that can support agricultural and fisheries development in the province. It served as an avenue where science and community come together to provide research-based insights directly beneficial to local sectors.
โ
โLeading the GSU delegation was Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreรฑo, University President and RUSC Chairperson, who delivered the welcome remarks and highlighted the importance of research, collaboration, and innovation in addressing the needs of communities and strengthening local development.
โ
โJoining her as research presenters was Dr. Julius T. Vergara, Vice President for Research, Extension, Training and Innovation, who presented the studies โEconometric Analysis and ARIMA Forecasting of Poultry and Livestock Prices in Guimaras Province, Philippinesโ and โPrice Dynamic and Volatility of Poultry and Livestock in Guimaras, Philippines: Evidence from Bantay Presyo Monitoring.โ Both studies offered insight on importance of price monitoring especially on livestocks and poultry products to educate the people and provide insights to government agencies to strengthen price monitoring.
โ
