Guimaras State University (GSU) culminated its observance of the 2026 Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino through the Recital of the Music Workshop held on July 30, 2026, at the Student Activity Center, showcasing the musical proficiencies cultivated by students, faculty members, and personnel during the workshop sessions conducted on July 16 and 23.
The recital served as the performative culmination of the workshop, where participants translated their learning into a repertoire that reflected the expressive cadence and cultural idioms of Filipino music.
The musical performance was spearheaded by Instr. Vanessa June E. Teves under the auspices of the Office of Cultural Affairs, Traditional and Contemporary Arts, led by Dr. Elishama Jepphunee D. Isogon. Through initiatives of this nature, the Office continues to cultivate a cultural ecology where artistic expression remains an integral facet of University life.
The performances were made possible through the musical instruments generously donated by Mr. Igor Edward Maksymiw, whose benefaction has expanded the creative latitude of the University's cultural arts program. GSU conveys its sincere appreciation for his enduring support in enriching opportunities for music education and artistic practice.

Guimaras State University (GSU) expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Igor Edward Maksymiw for his generous donation of musical instruments that will strengthen the University's cultural, musical and performing arts initiatives while expanding learning opportunities for its students.
The donation includes two drum sets, two large lyres, a keyboard, a keyboard amplifier, two electric guitars, two guitar amplifiers, a bass guitar, and a bass amplifierโ€”equipment that will augment the University's music resources for rehearsals, performances, artistic instruction, and co-curricular engagements.
On July 13, 2026, the donated instruments were formally received through Mr. Rhen Poll Potato, representative of Mr. Maksymiw. The instruments were subsequently installed on the third floor of the Graduate School Building, where they will serve as shared instructional and creative resources accessible to students, faculty members, and staff engaged in musical training, ensemble rehearsals, cultural productions, and other University-sanctioned artistic endeavors.
Office of Student Development Services (OSDS) Director Rey M. Arturo, together with Dr. Ervin L. Isogon, Director of the Cultural Affairs, Traditional and Contemporary Arts, conveyed the University's gratitude to Mr. Igor Edward Maksymiw, as well as to Mr. Rhen Poll Potato, Ms. Marjorie Galleto, and Mr. Philip Carthew, whose support and coordination contributed to the successful turnover of the donation.
On behalf of the University, President Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreรฑo, together with the entire GSU community, extends heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Igor Edward Maksymiw for his generosity and confidence in the University's cultural and educational mission. The donation reflects a shared belief in the transformative role of the arts within higher education and contributes to an environment where creativity, expression, and artistic discipline may continue to flourish.

The Guimaras State University - Dalawidaw Chorale once again showcased its musical excellence through its inspiring performances during two of Guimaras State University's milestone events.

On July 1, 2026, during Parangal 2026 held at the GSU Grounds, the chorale beautifully rendered the Philippine National Anthem, the Buenavista March, and the GSU Hymn, setting a dignified and celebratory atmosphere for honoring the University's outstanding achievers.

The chorale also lent their voices during the 55th Commencement Exercises on July 2, 2026, where the Philippine National Anthem and the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn were solemnly rendered under the leadership of Mr. Mico Lauron , inspiring graduates, faculty, staff, parents, and guests with a profound sense of patriotism and pride.

We are proud and honored to announce that the Dalawidaw Chorale of Guimaras State University โ€“ Salvador Campus has been officially granted a Certificate of Accreditation and recognized as a duly accredited student organization by the Office of Student Development and Services (OSDS) of Guimaras State University.

This recognition affirms our commitment to excellence in music, leadership, service, and the promotion of culture and the arts within the university and the wider community. It is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and passion of our chorale members, officers, alumni, advisers, and supporters who continuously strive to uphold the values and vision of our organization.

The GSU โ€“ Dalawidaw Chorale and Guimaras State University - TAGA ISLA DANCE Company were deeply honored to be part of the 128th Philippine Independence Day Celebration held earlier today at Lopez Central Park, New Poblacion, Buenavista, Guimaras. Through music and dance, the student performers proudly shared the richness of Filipino culture and the spirit of patriotism with the community.

The Office of the Cultural Affairs, Traditional and Contemporary Arts - GSU extend heartfelt appreciation to Mr. John Michael Lauron and Dr. Elishama Jepphunee D. Isogon for their unwavering dedication and continuous efforts in honing the talents and passion of our students in the performing arts.
