Mayor Dalmaceda Turns Over ₱385K Canon Photocopiers to Elementary and Secondary Schools

June 3, 2026 — Mayor Rellie S. Dalmaceda, ASEAN Engineer, led the official distribution of brand-new Canon photocopiers to public elementary and secondary schools in the city today, an investment amounting to ₱385,000.00 aimed at improving administrative and instructional services across learning institutions.
The turnover ceremony was held at the function hall of Gonzaga Riverview Hotel attended by school heads, teachers, education officials, and local government staff. In her message, Mayor Dalmaceda emphasized unity and collective progress as the core goals of the initiative.
“Let’s work together to avoid division. Education is a shared responsibility, and every resource we provide is meant to support our teachers in delivering quality instruction and making school operations more efficient. These machines will help produce learning materials, records, and documents quickly and reliably, ensuring that no school is left behind in our drive for better education,” she stated.
Each recipient school received one unit of Canon photocopier and megaphone, selected for its durability, speed, and cost-effectiveness in handling high-volume tasks. School administrators expressed their gratitude, noting that the equipment will significantly reduce delays in preparing modules, exams, student records, and other essential papers that are critical to daily school functions.
“This is a big help to us, especially since we often struggle with limited resources for reproducing learning materials. We can now serve our students and parents faster and more efficiently,” said one elementary school principal during the program.
As an ASEAN Engineer, Mayor Dalmaceda highlighted that the procurement followed strict quality and value-for-money standards, ensuring that public funds are used wisely and for their intended purpose. She also reassured the education sector that more projects and support programs are in the pipeline, focusing on infrastructure, technology, and teacher development.
The distribution forms part of the local government’s 2026 Education Support Program, designed to bridge resource gaps and strengthen the capacity of public schools to deliver accessible and quality education for all learners.

New Concrete Pathway Completed, Boosts Campus Safety and Accessibility

A new concrete pathway within the school premises was officially completed today, marking a significant improvement to the campus infrastructure. The project was formally requested by Ms. Glenys Santiago, Head Teacher and Alumni Adviser, together with Dr. Virgie Lagindino, School Principal IV, who identified the urgent need to upgrade pedestrian routes. They emphasized that the former uneven and worn-out walkways posed safety risks and made movement difficult, especially during bad weather. The initiative was designed not only to ensure safer passage for students, personnel, and visitors but also to enhance the overall appearance and functionality of the school grounds.

The successful realization of this project was made possible through the full approval and strong support of Mr. Armando Bulante Jr., President of the School Alumni Association. Responding promptly to the school administration’s appeal, Bulante led the alumni community in providing the necessary resources, funding, and coordination required for the construction. His active involvement highlighted the enduring partnership between the institution and its former students, proving that collective effort and shared commitment play a vital role in school development. This contribution also reflects the alumni’s dedication to giving back and supporting programs that directly benefit the learning environment of current students.

Construction was carried out following standard quality specifications to ensure durability, stability, and alignment with the school’s layout. The newly finished pathway features a smooth, even surface that connects key areas of the campus, effectively reducing the risk of slips, trips, and falls. Aside from its practical purpose, the improved walkway adds to the neat and organized look of the surroundings, creating a more welcoming atmosphere for everyone entering the school. Proper drainage and structural integrity were also prioritized to ensure the facility remains in good condition and serves the community for many years.

With the work completed and inspected, the pathway is now fully open for use, ready to serve its intended purpose. School officials expressed their gratitude to Bulante and the entire alumni association for their generosity and continued trust in the institution’s development plans. This achievement stands as a clear example of what can be accomplished when school leadership and alumni work hand in hand toward a common goal. The administration affirmed its commitment to maintaining the new facility and looks forward to more collaborative projects that will further improve the quality of services and facilities offered to the school community.

Always a second home.

Gonzaga National High School has proved once again that no one is left behind.

On the onslaught of Typhoon Ofel, Dr. Virgie P. Lagundino, the principal of GNHS welcomed the evacuees from barangays Batangan, Caroan and Minanga. The evacuees were brought to school by the PNP and private individuals.

Workers from the Local Government Unit were also present to account the number of evacuees present in school.

Gonzaga National High School officially welcomes Dr. Virgie P. Lagundino as the new principal of the school. All students including the Supreme Student Learner Government (SSLG) and School Parent Teachers’ Association (SPTA) of GNHS gathered in the Welcome Program for the official arrival of new principal, Dr. Virgie P. Lagundino who was the former principal of Sta. Ana Fishery National High School.

The event was held at the GNHS gym on October 15, 2024 to show the love and warm welcome to Ma’am Virgie P. Lagundino.

Ma’am Virgie’s leadership, passion, and dedication inspire us all as we look forward to working together to create an even brighter future for GNHS students.
