ASEAN Month | IZN Festival: SDG Congress 🌏🌱
“Preserve Nature. Empower Communities. Build with Purpose.”
The ASEAN Month IZN Festival: SDG Congress, held at the HTC Triplex Ground on August 13, highlighted the importance of Positionality, Intentionality, and Agency in creating meaningful and sustainable actions within every community.
The discussions reminded us that development should never happen to communities without involving the people who call them home. Before building establishments or introducing projects, we must listen to the locals, understand their needs, conduct proper surveys, and seek community consensus. Their voices, experiences, and knowledge are essential in making decisions that truly serve the community.
One powerful reminder was the call to preserve our rivers and natural resources. Progress should not come at the expense of nature. Even in an era of AI hubs and rapid technological development, we must remember that no innovation can replace the life, culture, and ecological value of our rivers, forests, and communities.
🌿 Positionality — Know where we stand and whose voices must be heard.
🎯 Intentionality — Act with purpose and consider the long-term impact of every decision.
🤝 Agency — Empower communities to participate, decide, and take action.
True sustainable development means progress with people, not progress over people; innovation with nature, not innovation at nature’s expense.
Preserve nature. Respect communities. Build responsibly. Act intentionally. 🌏💚
