Congratulations to Eureka Heragrace A. Tuya of Labangal National High School for winning Best Project in Life Science (Individual Category) during the 2026 National Science and Technology Fair, held from March 10–13 at the Great Eastern Hotel.

Guided by her adviser and coach, Dr. Sheryl Joy Rose R. Yama, Eureka proudly represented General Santos City and the SOCCSKSARGEN Region. She bested over 107 participants from other regions and secured her place as one of the eight qualifiers who will represent the Philippines at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

She also received the Gokongwei Young Scientist Award and was selected as one of its scholars.

The Labangal National High School community extends its heartfelt gratitude to School Principal I, Mylene S. Arzadon, for her full support and for personally witnessing this remarkable achievement, as well as to Assistant Principal Alvin DC Macadag-um, MT I Sherrie M. Tresbe, and the dedicated faculty and staff.

Through hard work, brilliance, and determination, Eureka has brought great pride and honor to the entire Schools Division of General Santos City and the SOCCSKSARGEN Region.

Congratulations, Sir Alvin De Claro Macadag-um, on your designation as Assistant School Head for Operations. As your SSLG officers, we have seen how you lead not only with instruction, but with reminders that keep us moving—your simple but firm “𝒅𝒐 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈.” Even in moments when you jokingly say “𝒏𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒏𝒂 𝒌𝒐” or your classic “𝒚𝒊𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒕𝒕,”we know it comes from your care for the work and for the students you guide.

Thank you for the years you spent shaping young leaders through the SSLG. Your influence goes beyond meetings and projects—it stays with us in the way we serve. Congratulations, Sir. We are proud of you, always.

𝙃𝙐𝙂𝙎 2026: 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙎𝙎𝙇𝙂 𝙎𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙊𝙪𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 𝙞𝙣 𝙇𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙈𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙠

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) of Labangal National High School successfully conducted an outreach program titled HUGS 2026: Hearts United in Generous Service at Purok Lower Malok, Barangay Labangal. The activity marked a meaningful way to conclude the month of February by sharing warmth and compassion with the community.

Through the funds raised from the Valentine’s Special booths, SSLG officers prepared and distributed warm servings of champorado to children and residents of the area. In addition, school kits generously provided by Sangguniang Kabataan Labangal were distributed to selected beneficiaries to support their educational needs.

The outreach program was made possible through the collective efforts of SSLG officers, dedicated student volunteers, and the guidance of their advisers, Sir Alvin D.C. Macadag-um and Ma’am Jonalyn Monacillo. The initiative was conducted under the leadership and support of the school head, Mrs. Mylene S. Arzadon, Principal I, whose continued encouragement strengthens the school’s commitment to community involvement and student-led service initiatives.

HUGS 2026 aimed not only to provide material assistance but also to strengthen the spirit of unity and generosity among students. By transforming Valentine’s fundraising initiatives into a cause-driven activity, the SSLG demonstrated that love can be expressed through acts of service and meaningful community engagement.
