Description: Many Filipino farmers face challenges with manual harvesting, a labor-intensive process that can take up to 25 days per hectare, causing significant production losses. To solve this, farmers in Sara, Iloilo, are now using the locally developed four-in-one Rice Combine Harvester. Designed by PhilRice and funded by DOST-PCAARRD, this machine combines reaping, threshing, cleaning, and bagging into one efficient operation. With features like ground drive rubber tracks and a hydraulic
system for wet harvests, it boosts capacity to 1.5 to 2 hectares per day, reducing losses
and enhancing rice productivity for Filipino farmers.

This annual observance, which began in 1990 through Presidential Proclamation No. 647, signed by then-President Corazon C. Aquino, highlights the importance of statistics in various sectors of society.

The celebration of NSM has two key objectives:

1. To promote, enhance, and instill nationwide awareness of the significance of statistics and its value to different sectors of society.
2. To encourage cooperation and public support in improving the quality and standards of statistics in the Philippines.

Through this participation, NISU reaffirms its commitment to advancing statistical knowledge and fostering an appreciation for data-driven decision-making within the university community and beyond.

Faculty evaluations also motivate professional development, encouraging them to enhance their qualifications, achievements, and performance. Furthermore, the evaluation data informs policy decisions and resource allocation, helping in faculty promotions, retention, development, and compensation decisions.
