Sir Knight Felisisimo Tejuco Jr., a distinguished member of the Knights of Rizal under the El Compañerismo Chapter, embarked on a poignant journey to Vienna, Austria. His purpose was to retrace the footsteps of the Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, and pay homage to the historical significance of the Metropole Hotel, where both Dr. Rizal and Maximo Viola once stayed. Despite the destruction of the original structure during World War II, Sir Knight Tejuco sought to immerse himself in the spirit of Rizal's presence and contribute to the preservation of his legacy.

The Metropole Hotel in Vienna, Austria, holds great historical importance as it provided accommodation to Dr. Jose Rizal and Maximo Viola during their time in the city. Rizal, a prominent figure in the Philippine Revolution and a champion of Philippine independence, had a profound impact on the country's history and culture. His travels through Europe played a crucial role in shaping his ideas about nationalism, education, and social reform.

Sir Knight Felisisimo Tejuco Jr., inspired by Dr. Jose Rizal's ideals and his own dedication to the Knights of Rizal, embarked on a personal pilgrimage to Vienna after his international paper presentation in Czech Republic , Austria. His mission was to relive the moments that Rizal and Viola experienced during their stay at the Metropole Hotel, despite the original structure being destroyed during World War II.

Though the original Metropole Hotel no longer stands, Sir Knight Tejuco visited the site where it once stood. Standing on the hallowed ground, he imagined the conversations that took place between Rizal and Viola, their discussions on Philippine independence, and the impact it would have on their homeland.

Sir Knight Felisisimo Tejuco Jr.'s visit to Vienna, Austria, not only paid tribute to Dr. Jose Rizal but also contributed to the preservation of his legacy. By retracing Rizal's footsteps and documenting his experiences, Sir Knight Tejuco ensured that future generations would have a deeper understanding of the national hero's life and contributions.
