On the morning of February 1, 2026, the sun cast a warm glow over the shores of Barangay Labac, Naic, Cavite. The Mountaineering & Exploration Society of Adamson University (MESAU) joined the dedicated volunteer patrollers of the Labac Pawikan Sanctuary for a pawikan release and cleanup drive โ a day where care and action came together.
Since its founding in 2009 by the former Barangay Captain of Labac, the sanctuary has grown into a close-knit community protecting pawikans and guiding hatchlings safely to the sea.
Armed with sacks and determination, we collected litter along the shoreline, making the beach safer for the little turtles. Then came the magical moment: watching tiny pawikans crawl across the sand and disappear into the waves. Each turtleโs journey reminded us that even small acts of care can create ripples of hope.
This day wasnโt just about releasing turtles. It was about teamwork, compassion, and the shared effort to protect life โ a story of hope we were proud to be part of.

In the pursuit of fostering a culture of sustainability and responsible governance, AdU-PULITIKA successfully held โ๐ฝ๐ก๐ค๐ค๐ข๐จ ๐ค๐ ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐ค๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐๐: ๐พ๐ช๐ก๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ช๐จ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ฉ๐ฎ ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ค๐ช๐๐ ๐๐ฉ๐๐ฌ๐๐ง๐๐จ๐๐๐ฅโ last October 30, 2025, at the BA Multimedia Hall. The event aimed to deepen the understanding of the interconnectedness between environmental stewardship and good governance, emphasizing that true progress must always take root in responsibility and collective action.
In a time where environmental concerns continue to grow, the event served as a timely reminder that sustainable governance is not an isolated concept but a framework that links policy, participation, and preservation.
A significant highlight of the activity was an enlightening lecture delivered by ๐๐ฟ. ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐น ๐๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฎ, who discussed the foundations of sustainable governance and its application in the Philippine context. Dr. Espinosa presented key concepts and theories on sustainable development frameworks, private and indigenous environmental practices, and case studies that demonstrated how local and national efforts must align in addressing environmental challenges.
His discussion underscored that sustainability is not a one-time endeavor, but a continuing responsibility anchored in informed leadership and conscious decision-making.

Talks of growth didnโt end on paper, they sprouted in pots. ๐ง๐ต๐ถ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ผ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ were handed to the offices of the CELA Department, bringing the essence of stewardship where it matters most: where people work, learn, and grow. This embodies the shared duty to nurture not only the spaces we occupy but also the values we carry as responsible members of the community. Through this initiative, AdU-PULITIKA reaffirmed that small actions, when nurtured collectively, can lead to profound and lasting change.
The lessons of stewardship, accountability, and sustainability are threads that bind us allโleaders, students, and citizens alike. For when we lead with purpose and govern with compassion, we do not only protect the environment; we cultivate a future where growth and goodness coexist in harmony.
