UP College of Arts and Letters Dean Jimmuel C. Naval and former Associate Dean Eilene Narvaez have been elected to the NCCA National Committee on Language and Translation for 2025-2028, reinforcing the university’s leadership in cultural advocacy.

UP Departamento ng Filipino at Panitikan ng Pilipinas Professors Naval and Narvaez will now play significant roles in shaping national policy regarding the preservation and promotion of Philippine languages. In this capacity, they will assist the NCCA in its mission to professionalize the translation industry and implement programs that safeguard the country's intangible cultural heritage. Through this platform, they will help steer critical discussions, research initiatives, and projects aimed at cementing the importance of language and translation in the Philippines.
