Through a virtual speech, Dr. Madelyn L. Macalling, SDS Isabela saluted the learners as scientists in the making who need to master their craft by application of their learnings while she called everyone in attendance to support STEM through the Division Science and Technology Fair, June 9-10.
โLearning doesnโt stop in the virtual classroom instead it happens when you apply all the concepts and experiences on how it works into practice in the fieldโ she said. She further commended the participants for taking the challenge of showcasing their competence in the competition in honor of representing their schools.
Meanwhile, SDO Isabela conducted the competition in full trust of Echague National High Schoolโs humble resources in reference to DepEd Memorandum No. 38, s.2022 re: National Science and Technology Fair spearheaded by Dr. Rodrigo Pascua, CID Chief and Dr. Ma. Lourdes B. Bueno, EPS Science.
The contested activities for F2F competitions were Likha Full-Research Proposal in Life and Physical Sciences, Robotics and Intelligent Machines ( RIM ), and Mathematics and Computational Science while for Online competition consists of Poster-making and digital poster making, Science Skills Olympics, Siyensikula, and STEMtokperiments.
โItโs the battle of the champions from the different science schools in Isabelaโ, said Dr. William G. Cablinan Jr., PSDS Echague North District during the opening ceremony. This is to highlight the role of Science and Mathematics in sustainable development and to empower the learners for creative innovation amidst global changes, he further emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Closing Ceremony and Awarding was held virtually as managed by SDO Isabelaโs Technical Working Group (TWG ) in supervision of Dr. Lourdes Bueno, lead proponent in Science and Dr. Inocencio Ballag. She presented symbols of gratitude to the various host institutions.
For his part Dr. Pascua (CID Chief) said, โAnything that starts well, ends well!โ to highlight CIDโs gratefulness for everyone who helped in providing the strength, ability and opportunity to conduct the 2022 DSTF. He also commended ENHS for the opening and ending the fair via hybrid platform likewise with LGU Echague as the host municipality. He further acknowledged the SDO dignitaries behind the successful event and the expertise of the invited board of judges, Dr. Veronica Martinez, Dr. Bobby Arbuquel, Dr. Gaudencio Natividad, and Dr. Pricilla Bacleg from PSHS, Cagayan Region; Dr. Jesus Gonzales, Liezel Santiago of PNU North Luzon Campus , Dr. Mark Gil Gangan of ISU Ilagan Campus, Dr. Jonard Santiago of Alicia National High School.
โThis is another breakthrough in SDO Isabela that coming together and working together equate to success!โ the CID Chief ended as he thanked every dignitary and all the other 180 registered student-participants with their coaches.
