SIES gets upgrade through new Perimeter Fence from BDF
(The Isidore's Pen Editorial Board)

In a move to address a long-standing concern over stray livestock entering school grounds, the Barangay Council of San Isidro has intensified the construction of a perimeter fence at the rear portion of San Isidro Elementary School, bringing enhanced protection and security to pupils, teachers, and school property, completed August 11.

Led by the Barangay Council under the administration of Hon. Karlene C. Alawag, Punong Barangay, the construction aimed to prevent stray animals and livestock from entering the school premises, a concern that has affected the cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of the institution, and is funded through the Barangay Development Fund, an annual allocation dedicated to supporting infrastructure improvements and other priority needs of San Isidro Elementary School.

The completed project introduces a new cyclone-wire perimeter fence designed to secure the upper section of the school located behind the Barangay Auditorium marking a significant improvement in the school's physical infrastructure to creating a safer and more conducive learning environment for the community's learners.

Aside from the installation of cyclone-wire fencing, the project also includes the enclosure of the school's Bestank water storage tank, providing an added layer of protection for one of the school's essential facilities.

Mrs. Jeny B. Alupay, Officer-in-Charge, expressed her gratitude to the Barangay Council of San Isidro for its continued support, emphasizing the importance of perimeter fence in promoting a safe and secure learning environment and reflecting the barangay's continuing commitment to assisting the school, particularly in advancing the welfare, protection, and well-being of both learners and school personnel.

Young Learners Inspired to Face Mistakes with Courage

SAN ISIDRO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL — Courage is often associated with heroic acts. According to Rev. Fr. Mark Joseph Bareng, true bravery can also be found in the simple act of telling the truth and accepting responsibility for one's actions.
During the school's Value of the Month program centered on Courage, Fr. Bareng delivered an inspiring talk that challenged learners to view courage not as the absence of fear but as the willingness to do what is right despite being afraid.
To emphasize his message, Fr. Bareng shared the story of a child who lied to his teacher to avoid punishment for a mistake. Believing that dishonesty would spare him from being scolded, the child initially kept the truth hidden. However, the weight of guilt and the realization of his wrongdoing eventually led him to make a difficult decision.
Despite knowing that admitting his mistake could have consequences, the child mustered the courage to approach his teacher and tell the truth. He accepted the reprimand that followed and took full responsibility for his actions.
Fr. Bareng explained that the child's decision demonstrated genuine courage. Rather than continuing to hide behind a lie, he chose honesty, accountability, and personal growth. The story served as a reminder that courage is not measured by strength or popularity but by the character one shows when faced with difficult choices.
Learners listened attentively as the speaker encouraged them to practice courage in their daily lives by speaking the truth, making responsible decisions, and accepting the consequences of their actions. He emphasized that mistakes are part of learning, but admitting them requires integrity and bravery.
The activity reinforced the school's commitment to character formation and values education. Through meaningful stories and reflections, learners gained a deeper understanding of how courage can be practiced both inside and outside the classroom.
As the program concluded, learners were left with a powerful lesson: real courage begins when a person chooses truth over fear and responsibility over excuses. Through honesty and accountability, every learner has the opportunity to become a better individual and a positive example to others.

Nutrition Month Celebration Promotes Healthy Living and Environmental Awareness Among Learners

SAN ISIDRO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL recently celebrated Nutrition Month through a week-long feeding program and a series of educational and creative activities aimed at promoting healthy living, proper nutrition, and environmental responsibility among learners.
The week-long feeding program provided nutritious meals and snacks to learners, reinforcing the importance of healthy eating habits in supporting children's growth, development, and academic performance.
As part of the celebration, learners participated in various contests designed to increase awareness of nutrition and environmental care. Kindergarten to Grade 2 learners joined the Draw and Tell Contest, where they creatively illustrated healthy foods and demonstrated ways of keeping their surroundings clean and healthy. Grade 3 and Grade 4 learners participated in the Slogan Making Contest, crafting inspiring messages that promoted proper nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and environmental conservation. Meanwhile, Grade 5 and Grade 6 learners showcased their artistic talents in the Poster Making Contest, emphasizing the importance of balanced nutrition, waste management, and caring for the environment.
The activities encouraged learners to develop healthy habits while recognizing the connection between personal well-being and a clean, sustainable environment. Participants highlighted how proper nutrition and environmental stewardship contribute to healthier communities and a better future.
The celebration culminated during the school's flag-raising ceremony, where winners of the various contests were recognized and awarded certificates and prizes for their outstanding entries. Teachers and fellow learners applauded the awardees for their creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment to promoting the Nutrition Month advocacy.
Ms. Christian Sharmaine S.
