At age 45, Junny Marcial proved that age is never a barrier to achieving oneโs dreams after passing the April 2026 Pharmacist Licensure Examination (PHLE) on his first try, inspiring others to pursue their dreams regardless of age.
Junny Marcial, a graduate of Business Administration in 2004, worked as a district sales manager for six years and as a medical representative for eleven years. At 40, he made the courageous decision to leave his corporate career and enroll at DMC College Foundation, Inc. to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
He became one of the 14 newly registered pharmacists from DMC who successfully passed the examination held in various testing centers throughout the country on April 18-19.
Driven by his personal principle of โunlearn and relearn,โ Marcial emphasized that age is never a hindrance to oneโs dreams and aspirations.
โBeing a manager or supervisor does not always ensure success in life. Sometimes, you need to become an ordinary student again in order to pursue your goals,โ Marcial shared.
His journey toward becoming a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) was not easy. Marcial faced doubts from acquaintances and former colleagues who doubted his ability to keep up with medical terminology and technical requirements. He struggled with low quizzes and exam scores, faced financial hardships, and had frequent sleepless nights spent studying. Yet he persevered, determined to complete his degree and achieve his dream.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) administered the April 2026 licensure examination as part of its mandate to uphold professional standards and ensure public safety in pharmacy practice.
โTo future RPhs, God will fulfill your dreams in His perfect time, so donโt give up if you do not succeed today,โ Marcial shared with those aspiring pharmacists.
Marcialโs story serves as a powerful reminder that with courage, perseverance, and faith, it is never too late to pursue oneโs dreams and achieve success.

Vincent L. Coscos, a 19-year-old BS Nursing student representing the College of Nursing and Midwifery (CONM), is crowned Mr. Pasiklaban 2026 during the annual Pasiklaban celebration at DMC College Foundation on April 17, 2026.
Moments before his name is announced, Coscos stands still. His hands tremble, his heart races, and his eyes fix on the stage lights. "I keep telling myself, just breathe, just believe," he recalls. In that suspended moment, a quiet realization dawns: his voice matters more than he imagines.
Coscos emerges as a strong contender, demonstrating confidence and composure throughout the event. As a representative of his department, he admits to feeling the weight of expectation, saying, โI feel like I am carrying more than just myself.โ
Behind his performance is a journey marked by pressure and self-doubt. โPeople see the stage,โ Coscos says, โbut they donโt see the nights you question yourself.โ He describes moments backstage when uncertainty arises, balanced by thoughts of those who believe in him.
His defining moment comes during the question-and-answer portion, where he addresses global awareness and the importance of speaking out:
โThere should be [no] reason[s] to stop voicing [our] concerns, especially [about issues] around the world. Thereโs a war going on thousands [of] miles away [from] the Philippines, yet we are still affected, like [the] high rise in gas prices. Thatโs why I encourage everyone, especially, to post online to have their voice[s] heard. [Through this], we can make a change, and we wonโt accept violations by other countries.โ
While not perfectly delivered, his response resonates with the audience for its sincerity and relevance, highlighting the impact of youth voices in addressing global concerns. In that moment, Vincent transforms the stage into something greater than a competition; it becomes a space for awareness and reflection.
Behind his success stands a strong support system. His family and the House of Gryffindor fill the venue with cheers that echo through the halls. โHearing them shout my name gives me strength,โ Vincent shares. He also expresses gratitude to his coach, handlers, and to Arianna Phoebe Espanola Osborne and Jonathan Cotot. โThey are my backbone, my primary support, and they remind me of who I am when I start to forget,โ he says.
Now holding the Mr. Pasiklaban 2026 title, Vincent remains grounded. โThis is not just for me,โ he reflects. โThis is for everyone who feels like their voice doesnโt matter.โ
As he begins his reign as Mr. Pasiklaban 2026, he carries not just a title but a purpose to inspire others to speak, act, and believe.
