Di**leanon hockey player continues to make waves in the international field

James Hereta, a proud Di**leanon hockey player, has been making a name for himself in the international hockey scene.

He is currently preparing for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in 2025, which will be held in Thailand.

At just 22 years old, James already carries 13 years of playing experience. He began his athletic journey in football before transitioning to both outdoor and indoor hockey.

His first team was the David P. Jimenez Football Club, where he played for two years before fully committing to hockey.

Since then, he has represented the Philippines in Hockey 5’s and Indoor Hockey competitions.

Family support continues to fuel his drive. His mother, Elena Ortega Hereta, and his father, Joery Albacite Bretaña, stand behind him every step of the way.

For the upcoming SEA Games 2025, James is set to join the Philippine delegation in Thailand, bringing his skill and determination to the international stage.

His story shows how dedication, perseverance, and love for the sport can turn dreams into reality.

💪 Grit for Success: Ilonggo Runner Shines in ASEAN School Games Stage

Nagdiriwang ngayon ang buong bayan ng Di**le sa Iloilo, matapos ang magningning ang pangalan ng kanilang kababayan sa 14th ASEAN School Games sa Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei kung saan isinagawa ang Athletics. Nasungkit ni Kian Labar ng Di**le National High School ng SDO Iloilo sa Western Visayas Region ang tatlong silver medals sa 4x400-meter relay, 200 meters, at 400 meters.

Ngunit higit pa sa medalya, dala ni Kian ang kuwento ng Ilonggo grit—ang lakas ng loob na humarap sa hamon, ang disiplina na humubog sa bawat hakbang, at ang pusong hindi sumusuko. Mula sa tahimik na bayan ng Di**le, pinatunayan niya walang hangganan ang pagpangarap kapag sinabayan ng sipag at determinasyon.

Ang kanyang tagumpay ay paalala sa kabataan ng Iloilo at ng buong bansa: ang talento ay maaaring magsimula sa ating mga paaralan, sa ating komunidad, at sa ating sariling tahanan.

Ngayon, buong taas-noo ang Di**le at nagdiriwang ang Iloilo. At ang Pilipinas ay humahanga sa isang batang mananakbo, dala ang bandila at dangal sa karangalan ng palakasan.

Hindi lamang tahanan ang Iloilo para sa mga kampeon sa palakasan, kun’di para sa buhay at sa pangarap na pinanday ng tiyaga at tapang.

The Philippines notched another medal at the 14th ASEAN Schools Games, as Western Visayas’ Kian Labar took the silver in the boys’ 400-meter dash held earlier today at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.

Labar clocked in at 48.50 seconds, narrowly missing the top spot, which was achieved by eventual gold medalist Adisak Pornsomphot of Thailand who finished with a time of 47.98 seconds. Completing the podium was Malaysia’s Muhamad Qarliff Kuyt Bin Abdullah, who secured the bronze with 48.63 seconds.
