A week at a glance at the ML Nutrinest at Egmedio Fernando Elementary School (EFES)โ€”where every meal comes with a meaningful opportunity to learn.

Our School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP)* journey is more than serving nutritious food. Through our school-initiated reading program *โ€œBASARAPโ€, we make sure that *feeding and reading go hand in hand*. While our learners enjoy healthy meals, they are also given time and opportunities to read, listen, share, and discoverโ€”because a well-nourished child is a child ready to learn.

From food preparation and serving, to cheerful mealtimes and engaging reading moments, every day at our humble ML Nutrinest reflects the love, dedication, and teamwork of our teachers, parents, partners, and the entire EFES community.

Egmedio Fernando Elementary School successfully completed Week 2 of its School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP), bringing together nutrition and learning support for its beneficiaries.

Throughout the week, learners received nutritious meals that helped ensure they were busog, energized, and ready to learn. The feeding activities provided not only nourishment but also encouraged learners to participate actively in their daily classroom activities.

A meaningful part of the week was the integration of a reading activity for the feeding beneficiaries. While enjoying the support of the program, learners were given opportunities to read, practice their skills, and develop greater confidence in reading.

The successful completion of Week 2 reflects the continued commitment of DepEd RXII Egmedio Fernando ES to promote the health, well-being, and academic development of its learners. Ang Schools Division Office of Cotabato ay buong-pusong nakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa 2026 na may temang "Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon." Ang pagdiriwang na ito ay isang makabuluhang pagkakataon upang higit na mapagtibay ang mahalagang gampanin ng Wikang Filipino bilang wika ng edukasyon, pananaliksik, at makabuluhang komunikasyon sa gitna ng patuloy na pag-unlad ng agham at teknolohiya. Higit sa lahat, binibigyang-diin nito na ang makabagong teknolohiya, kabilang ang Artificial Intelligence (AI), ay dapat magsilbing katuwang sa pagpapalawak ng kaalaman at hindi pamalit sa mapanuri, makatao, at makabayang pag-iisip.

Kaisa ng Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) ang SDO-Cotabato sa adhikaing patuloy na paunlarin, payabungin, at intelektuwalisahin ang Wikang Filipino bilang daluyan ng makabuluhang pananaliksik, inobasyon, at paglikha ng kaalaman. Egmedio Fernando Elementary School officially launched its School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) with a meaningful activity that combined reading and healthy eating. As part of the kick-off, SBFP beneficiaries participated in reading words and short passages to strengthen their literacy skills while enjoying nutritious meals prepared through the Pres. Roxas South District Central Kitchen .

The activity highlights that learning and proper nutrition go hand in hand in helping children grow healthy, confident, and ready to succeed in school.
