Laak NHS Students Gain Digital Learning Support as Parents Receive DICT Bayanihan SIM Cards

Students of Laak National High School (LNHS) received another boost in their digital learning journey after their parents accepted free Bayanihan SIM Cards on their behalf through the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd).

The distribution forms part of the government's commitment to expanding digital access among learners by providing internet connectivity for educational purposes. Parents personally received the SIM cards to ensure their proper use in supporting their children's academic needs.

The initiative also reinforces Project KASAMA KA for Khan Academy, Laak NHS's school-based program that encourages parents and stakeholders to actively support learners in using the Khan Academy platform. By providing internet access through the Bayanihan SIM Project, students are expected to participate more consistently in online lessons, complete learning activities, and maximize the educational resources available through Khan Academy and other digital learning platforms.

Jeanette C. Limen, Principal IV of the school emphasized that the partnership between DICT and DepEd strengthens the school's efforts to integrate technology into teaching and learning while promoting shared responsibility among educators, parents, and the community. The availability of free internet connectivity is expected to lessen the financial burden on families and help ensure that students can continue learning beyond the classroom.

Parents welcomed the initiative, expressing appreciation for the assistance that will enable their children to access online lessons, conduct research, and engage in technology-supported learning without the added expense of regularly purchasing mobile data.

Through the Bayanihan SIM Project and the continued implementation of Project KASAMA KA for Khan Academy, Laak National High School continues to promote digital inclusion and collaborative support, ensuring that students have greater opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills, and digital competencies needed for success in the 21st century.

𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐒 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 || Sports mode on

Laak National High School officially opened Intramurals 2026 with vibrant Pasiklab performances from the Green Vipers, Yellow Cheetahs, Red Cardinals, Blue Panthers, Pink Huskies, and Purple Cubs on July 11.

Showcasing the sportsmanship spirit, each team energized the crowd and officially welcomed this year's sporting events under the theme, "Synergy 2026: Bridging Talents, Building Lifelong Connections Through Sports."

During the opening program, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake briefly interrupted the event, prompting participants and spectators to remain calm while safety protocols were observed.

Despite the unexpected interruption, athletes demonstrated discipline and resilience by maintaining order and continuing the program once it was declared safe.

In her message, Principal IV Jeanette C. Limen highlighted that discipline, perseverance, and commitment are essential qualities for students aspiring to compete at higher levels.

Athletes who have proudly represented LNHS in provincial and national competitions were also recognized, inspiring fellow athletes to strive for excellence both on and off the playing field.

Laak school leaders convene to advance athletic success

School heads and sports coordinators across the municipality gather for the Laak Mighty Bamboo Athletic Association Meeting on July 2, 2026 at 8:00 am in Laak National High School SBM Office.

The meeting was spearheaded by the Public Schools District Supervisors of Laak from the north Mam Renee J. Peñaroyo and from the south Sir Noel B. Canales.

This gathering of school heads and sports coordinators across the municipality focused on strengthening collaboration, planning upcoming athletic programs and competitions and ensuring the successful implementation of sports initiatives while promoting excellence, teamwork and holistic learner development.

Together, we continue to champion sportsmanship, unity, and athletic excellence for the learners of Laak.
