𝗗𝗱𝗢𝗦𝗖–𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

Office and unit heads of Davao de Oro State College (DdOSC)–New Bataan Branch convened on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Campus Library for a Campus Tour Preparation Meeting.

The meeting, called by the Office of the Branch Director, centered on preparations for the campus tour as the institution gets ready for the upcoming visit and evaluation by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner and DdOSC Board of Trustees Chair Hon. Myrna Q. Mallari.

The gathering brought together representatives from the campus’ different offices and units to coordinate with the plans and ensure the participation of concerned personnel.

The meeting is part of the continuing preparations for the said visit, following the recent Campus Clean-up Day conducted on August 18–19.

𝗗𝗱𝗢𝗦𝗖–𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻-𝘂𝗽 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁

Davao de Oro State College (DdOSC)–New Bataan Branch conducted Campus Clean-up Day on August 18–19, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in preparation for the upcoming visit and evaluation by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner and DdOSC Board of Trustees Chair Hon. Myrna Q. Mallari.

The two-day initiative brought together faculty, staff, and student organizations in organizing and refreshing their respective learning spaces, offices, laboratories, facilities, and grounds within the DDOSC premises.

The first day focused on deep cleaning and organization of classrooms, laboratories, offices, and workspaces. Meanwhile, the second day focused on common areas, hallways, grounds, exterior areas, equipment, documents, and laboratories in Building 3.

The campus community also observed proper waste segregation, document management, and safety practices throughout the activity, with laboratory cleaning spearheaded by the respective laboratory in-charge.

The activity underscored the campus community’s commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and conducive environment while demonstrating the institution’s pride and standards ahead of the CHED visit and evaluation.

[𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦] Davao de Oro State College proudly congratulates Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay, Ms. Lovely Mae F. Deoric, and Ms. Karesha Faith Cardente-Cañetan for being invited as speakers at the International Conference on “Building Sustainability and a Resilient Future: Global Perspectives, Innovations and Collaborative Pathways.”

They will represent DdOSC during the International Invited Speaker Session on August 22, 2026 at 12:00 Noon (IST) via Google Meet, where they will share their expertise and insights on sustainability, higher education, community-based ecotourism, governance, teacher development, digital innovation, and internationalization.

As part of this international academic platform, DdOSC continues to contribute to meaningful conversations and collaborative pathways toward a more sustainable and resilient future.

𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗢𝗬 𝗔𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗡𝗢 𝗗𝗔𝗬

These words, spoken by Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., have endured as a powerful expression of patriotism, courage, and sacrifice.

On Ninoy Aquino Day, we remember not only the man behind these words, but also the ideals they represent: the courage to stand for what one believes in, the willingness to speak for others, and the conviction that the Filipino people are worth fighting for.

As we remember his life and legacy, may his words remind us that love for country is not measured only by grand acts of sacrifice. It can also be found in the everyday choices to speak truth, uphold what is right, and serve others with courage.

A voice may be silenced, but the ideals it stood for can continue to speak.

[𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧] The Local Government Unit of New Bataan has officially LIFTED the face-to-face class suspension in all levels effective tomorrow, August 17, 2026.

Accordingly, DdOSC students and personnel from the New Bataan Branch are expected to resume their regular schedules tomorrow.

DdOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay reminds everyone to continue observing necessary safety precautions against the effects of extreme heat.

Please continue to prioritize your health, safety, and well-being.

𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗫 𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗧 | DdOSCians, stay cool and stay safe!

For August 13, 2026, the heat index may reach levels that require extra caution. PAGASA classifies a heat index of 33°C–41°C as “Extreme Caution,” where heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible, while continued exposure may lead to heat stroke. A heat index of 42°C–51°C falls under “Danger,” where heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely and heat stroke becomes probable with prolonged exposure.

As temperatures rise, everyone is encouraged to stay hydrated, take breaks in cool or shaded areas, avoid strenuous outdoor activities during peak hours, and watch for signs of heat exhaustion such as dizziness, weakness, headache, nausea, and excessive sweating.

DdOSC President Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay reminds everyone to look out for themselves and for one another, especially during periods of intense heat.

Hydrate. Take breaks. Stay cool. Stay safe.
