🌏🎓 Connect, collaborate, and shape the future of higher education at the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2026!

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is pleased to inform interested parties of the invitation from Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) to participate in the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2026, to be held on 03–05 November 2026 at the Bali International Convention Centre, Bali, Indonesia.

Under the theme “Advancing Education for Purpose and Impact,” the summit will bring together more than 1,000 academics, policymakers, and industry experts to explore higher education transformation through internationalization, career readiness, and global partnerships.

Participants can engage in strategic sessions, presidential roundtables, masterclasses, workshops, exhibitions, and networking opportunities covering topics such as AI, digital transformation, student mobility, curriculum design, and institutional resilience.

CHED likewise intends to establish a Philippine Pavilion to showcase the country’s higher education internationalization initiatives, promote Philippine HEIs, and strengthen the Philippines’ global visibility.

Please note that registration, travel, accommodation, and other incidental expenses shall be borne by the participating institution, subject to applicable accounting and auditing rules.

𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙮 𝙩𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝘼𝙎𝙀𝘼𝙉!

In celebration of the 2026 ASEAN Month, the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI) took a vivid journey across the region with a vibrant cultural showcase on 10 August 2026.

The festivities kicked off with a parade of ASEAN flags led by the Regional Office’s top management, headed by Regional Director Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo, followed by individual units representing their assigned member states.

Donning traditional and colorful ASEAN attire, CHED RO XI personnel brought Southeast Asian heritage to life through song, dance, and dramatic cultural performances.

CROSSING BORDERS, CONNECTING CULTURES!

What happens when students cross borders, step into new cultures, and experience learning beyond the classroom?

Join us for “Crossing Borders, Connecting Cultures: Voices of ASEAN Through Student Exchange,” a virtual forum featuring the stories and experiences of UM’s inbound and outbound exchange students as they study, travel, and immerse themselves in different ASEAN cultures.

Hear firsthand how student exchange becomes more than just an academic journey—it is an opportunity to build connections, embrace diversity, discover new perspectives, and create meaningful memories across borders.

Leading the talks are UM’s outbound exchange students to National Economics University in Vietnam, and King Mongkut’s University of Technology, Thonburi in Thailand, and inbound academic and cultural exchange students from Universiti Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya in Indonesia!

𝘾𝙃𝙀𝘿 𝙍𝙊 𝙓𝙄 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙎𝙄𝙋 𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣-𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥 𝙖𝙩 𝙅𝙈𝘾𝙁𝙄

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI) conducted an Orientation-Workshop on Strategic Internationalization Planning (SIP) at Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc. (JMCFI) on July 29, 2026.

The activity brought together school officials, program heads, and faculty members, highlighting JMCFI’s commitment to strengthening its internationalization efforts and ensuring that these are strategic, inclusive, and aligned with institutional priorities.

The workshop provided participants with key insights and practical approaches to developing a Strategic Internationalization Plan, including identifying priority areas, strategies, and initiatives that can advance the institution’s global engagement.

CHED RO XI continues to support HEIs in strengthening their internationalization efforts through capacity-building activities and technical assistance, contributing to a more globally engaged and competitive Philippine higher education sector.

𝘾𝙃𝙀𝘿 𝙍𝙊 𝙓𝙄 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙏𝙉𝙃𝙀 𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝘼𝘿𝘿𝙐

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI) successfully conducted an orientation on Transnational Higher Education (TNHE) last Thursday at the Finster Auditorium, Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) Jacinto Campus.

The event was actively attended by ADDU’s faculty members, program chairs, deans, and other academic leaders. The session aimed to equip the university’s academic leadership with a comprehensive understanding of internationalization and TNHE under Republic Act 11448 and its relevant issuances.

This activity reinforces the ongoing collaboration between CHED and higher education institutions to elevate the quality of higher education and expand the global reach of Philippine degree programs. Through TNHE and partnerships with foreign HEIs, the initiative ensures that world-class, international credentials remain accessible and attainable for Filipino students.

Applications for the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program for AY 2027–2028 are now open!

The Program provides early-career English language educators the opportunity to strengthen their teaching skills, enhance their English proficiency, and serve as teaching assistants for the Filipino language at U.S. colleges and universities. Participants also engage in cultural exchange while taking academic coursework that supports their professional growth.
