The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI) commends the ten (10) Davao Region Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that secured spots at the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, released on June 25, 2026, noting a 100% increase in institutional participation compared to the 2025 cycle.
The five (5) new entrants from the region are Brokenshire College (1001โ1500th), Davao del Sur State College (1001โ1500th), Davao Oriental State University (1001โ1500th), Cor Jesu College Inc. (1501+), and Holy Cross of Davao College (1501+).
The five (5) retaining institutions from the 2025 cohort are Mapรบa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (1001โ1500th), the University of Mindanao (1001โ1500th), the University of Southeastern Philippines (1001โ1500th), the University of the Immaculate Conception (1001โ1500th), and Ateneo de Davao University (1501+).
Data from this cycle show mobility among the institutions, with 80% (4 HEIs) of the five retaining HEIs improving their positions by moving from the 1501+ band in 2025 to the 1001โ1500 tier in 2026, while the remaining institution maintained its placement.
The THE Sustainability Impact Ratings assess higher education institutions against the United Nationsโ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), tracking indicators across research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching.
In line with the internationalization pillar of the A.C.H.I.E.V.E. Agenda, CHED RO XI will continue its capacity-development initiatives and mentoring programs, including the Metric Matters workshops, to support HEIs in their international rankings and visibility efforts.
