I've been teaching this student for a year now, and he's incredibly sweet. When we first started, it was often difficult to understand what he's trying to say, but now they speak so clearly and confidently. Seeing their progress has been truly rewarding!

Please take note of this student’s concern regarding classroom participation. He shared that he tends to speak less during class because he feels anxious about being interrupted or cut off while expressing his thoughts. This seems to affect his confidence and willingness to communicate in English.

As ESL teachers, it helps to give all our students enough space to speak, and always let them finish sharing their ideas before we respond or give corrections. Creating a supportive and patient speaking environment encourages them to participate more actively and build greater confidence in using English. Gentle guidance, active listening, and delaying corrections until they have finished speaking are great ways to help all learners feel more comfortable expressing themselves during class discussions.

Just as class ended and I was about to say goodbye, one student suddenly said, “You’re so fantastic teacher.” It really hit different — especially since I’ve been teaching these twins quite some time now. I feel so incredibly lucky to have such brilliant, wonderful students. Their kind words made every moment and all my effort feel truly worth it. My heart is so full. 🥹💛
