On September 11, 2026, the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), in collaboration with the Social Action Club (SAC), Student Supreme Council (SSC), and Community Engagement and Services Office (CESO), conducted an ๐„๐๐•๐ˆ๐‘๐Ž๐๐Œ๐„๐๐“๐€๐‹ ๐€๐–๐€๐‘๐„๐๐„๐’๐’ ๐’๐„๐Œ๐ˆ๐๐€๐‘ with the theme: โ€œ๐Š๐ง๐จ๐ฐ ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐–๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ž๐, ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐œ๐ญ ๐ˆ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐…๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐žโ€.

SAC members, CWTS students, and the Club, Division, and MRF Vice Presidents participated in the seminar held at the HCCC AVR. The activity provided the participants with valuable knowledge about environmental awareness, responsible environmental practices, and the importance of student-led initiatives in promoting sustainability and protecting natural resources.

The invited guest speaker, ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐ƒ. ๐Œ๐š๐ ๐š๐ง๐๐š๐ฆ, discussed โ€œ๐ˆ๐ง๐๐ข๐ ๐ž๐ง๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐„๐ง๐ฏ๐ข๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ฅ ๐’๐ญ๐ž๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐’๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง๐š๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ: ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ฑ๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐–๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ž๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง. His discussion highlighted the importance of indigenous knowledge and practices in caring for the environment, particularly in protecting watersheds and preserving natural resources for future generations. Through his insights, the participants gained a deeper understanding of how communities and students can contribute to environmental protection and sustainability.

The seminar successfully brought together student leaders and organizations in promoting greater environmental awareness and encouraging responsible actions toward the protection of our watersheds.

Overall, the activity served as a meaningful opportunity for participants to learn, reflect, and become more aware of their role in creating a sustainable and environmentally responsible community.

Yesterday, August 15, 2026, marked the beginning of a new journey for the CWTS students as they gathered for their first classroom session. NSTP Coordinator Mr. Francis Tatad divided the CWTS students into two classes under the guidance of their respective instructors, Instructor Jan Marie Gamao and Instructor Jerlyn Gales.

The first class was a successful start as students had the opportunity to get to know one another and build connections with their classmates. They were also introduced to the importance of the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) component and its role in developing studentsโ€™ sense of responsibility, service, and active participation in the community.

With this meaningful beginning, the CWTS students are now ready to take on new experiences, strengthen their teamwork and leadership skills, and take part in activities that will contribute to the welfare of their communities.

Today, Holy Cross College of Calinan, Inc. CWTS students participated in the 78th Parochial Fiesta Celebration of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. The celebration united various government agencies, educational institutions, organizations, volunteer groups, and other community groups through a vibrant parade, marching band performances, instrumental and dance presentations, and cultural showcases that highlighted the traditions, rich history, and cultural heritage of Calinan, Davao City.

The celebration served as a meaningful reminder of the importance of unity, culture, and sense of community. It reflected the strong connection among different sectors of the community while honoring the traditions and values that continue to shape the unique identity of Calinan, Davao City.

Today, the Holy Cross College of Calinan, Inc. National Service Training Program (NSTP), through its Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) components, joined forces in a Community Clean-Up Drive in collaboration with the Calinan Barangay Council in preparation for the 78th Parochial Fiesta of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.

The activity aimed to strengthen the students' commitment to community engagement, volunteerism, and civic responsibility while encouraging them to actively contribute to the cleanliness and well-being of the community through meaningful service.

The Community Clean-Up Drive was a success. The active participation and cooperation of the HCCC CWTS students and HCCC ROTC officers demonstrated their dedication to serving the community and promoting environmental cleanliness.
