One of the most important decisions that a parent will ever make is where to send his child to school. Sending your child to school is an important milestone for his development. For this reason, many parents worry too much on how to choose the school that would harness the foundation for learning in a fun yet effective way. To help you out, here are the things you should consider in choosing the best school for your child.
1. Your Child’s Level of Independence. Before going outside your house to look for a school, you need to evaluate first how independent is your child. Does he still need help in going to the comfort room? How often does he have tantrums? How clear can he relate to other people? Can he clearly say if he needs something? How tolerable is he to stress of handling new things? Does he have enough patience to tolerate other kids’ sudden misbehavior? Does he incorporate in giving turns and chances? These are the questions you need to answer in order to know what you should look for in a school. You don’t have to rely on his age. You can send your child to school as early as 2 years old. Kids Camp Innovative Learning Academy is a school which provides and caters to the specific need of the student teaching them to be independent learners.
2. Location and Transportation. It’s always best to choose among schools near your house. Simply because it would save you time, and additional effort in keeping your child’s interest while he’s waiting. If you want to save your child from heavy traffic and long tiring travel, prioritize schools near your community. You wouldn’t want your child to feel tired before the class starts. Kids Camp Innovative Learning Academy is located nearby your subdivision and there is no need for you to experience the hustle and bustle of the downtown area.
3. Quality of Teaching. Well, this one is an obvious must. But to avoid getting caught by sales talks, which often happens, refer first to parents in your community. Ask for near schools that provides quality of teaching. Most likely, you’ll get reliable answers considering they have same concerns as you are. You’ll also know if they’re telling the truth just by assessing their child’s development. Kids Camp Innovative Learning Academy is the most talk about school in the south of Davao. A school that produces versatile learners ready to face the 21st century. Giving your children access to quality education helps them prepare for their future. KCILA has a uniquely designed curriculum with full English immersion, a strong focus on core subjects, and skills/ values development. KCILA is a good school proven to offer quality education that is essential for students to enhance their skills and expertise, which are all vital to their success.
4. Guiding Principle and School Policies. Call the schools that had good comments from fellow parents in your community. But before dialing their numbers, list first the things that you want to know on their school policies. Aside from knowing how dedicated they are, asking for the school guiding principle will also reveal if they can indeed provide the best learning experience for your child. Kids Camp Innovative Learning Academy has a safe learning environment for students. KCILA is a place where students feel safe, physically and emotionally. It is a supportive community where the teachers and students collaborate and focus on achieving better learning. Hence, it is free of negative behaviours, like bullying and harassment. Instead of serving punishment as a means to discipline the students, the school might focus on preventing student misbehaviours by implementing disciplinary actions that are safe for the student and helpful to the community, such as letting the students do social work or community service for a certain period of time.
5. Facilities and Equipments. Visit the schools that passed your call interview. Check on their facilities and equipments. It is also ideal if you bring along your child with you to see how he fits with the environment. Assess also the cleanliness and safety of the school. Don’t hesitate to ask if something is bothering you especially if it involves your child’s safety and wellness. Kids Camp Innovative Learning Academy offers a clean and well-organised environment that is conducive to learning. KCILA believes that one excellent way to support better learning in school is to provide the students with a clean and well-organised environment where they can develop their skills and increase their knowledge. A clean and comfortable school setting helps enhance the teaching and learning experience. Our students enjoy fully air-conditioned classrooms equipped with LED TV, school-wide CCTV for added safety and security, with turnstile/ baffle gate entrance and exit facility, campus wide wifi access and so much more. So saying, our school administrator here in KCILA is very particular in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the school premises.
6. Pricing. Ask for the specific fees and monthly expenses to be expected upon enrollment. Check if it’s indeed the prevailing price in the market based from the length of the class, type of teaching service, and facilities. Still, remember to consider first the quality of the education. Don’t go for the cheapest nor the most expensive of all. Quality education doesn't need to be expensive. Let us be wise and be practical in choosing the kind of school for our children. KCILA is an affordable education center and the much talked-about affordable and world class private education in the South of Davao.

"IS KIDS CAMP A RELIGIOUS SCHOOL? What is Christian Education? Is the education any different? .... " Whether it’s learning how to count, learning how to spell, or learning to solve math problems, all knowing has its ultimate meaning and purpose when framed by God’s big picture.
All forms of education will have a particular perspective on life. It may not always be obvious or overtly stated, but it will shape how things are understood and spoken about, how things are done, and what is chosen to be taught. This might be in the form of assumptions about the nature and origins of the world, or it might be evident through suggestions about the purpose of life and indeed what it means to be fulfilled as a human. No form of education is neutral as it will always be providing a particular lens through which the student sees the world and their place in it.
"A different perspective"
Christian education invites young people to see and understand the world through the perspective of God’s truth. The Bible becomes the lens in which students view what they are learning. The lens focusses their thinking on ultimate truth–a biblical vision for life where the world is created and sustained by God; where God has acted in history to deal with the distortions of creation caused by human rebellion; and where history is advancing towards a new creation in which all things are reconciled to God through Jesus who is not only the climax of the biblical story but is also the focal point of the lens.
"A way of living"
However, Christian education is not just about a Christian way of understanding. It is also about a Christian way of living. When Jesus said “Follow me”, he was expecting people to dedicate their whole lives to serving God. Christian education informs, invites, and inspires young people to live this way. The Christian school offering Christian education seeks to teach this way of life every day through all that is done and taught. It does this in a setting of a unified community of love and learning between parents, children, and teachers.
"Partnership with parents"
We value the partnership of parents and the school in leading students to a Godly life. Every religion is welcome here in KCILA because we are a non-sectarian school and not a religious school. Our aim is to teach Christian values and influence students to live life pleasing to God. ENROLL NOW AND LET US BE PARTNERS IN REARING A GODLY GENERATION!

☝☝️☝️️WHERE IS THE PROM THIS YEAR? In KCILA we don't have to have the same old boring thing that every other school has for their PROM. This is the reason why year after year the administration would conceptualize prom activities outside the box to make such event unique and memorable. We would spend all year keeping the theme, location, date, etc. a big secret until the month of the said event is fast approaching. Every year, we make sure to create new themes that students will love. This year, we have chosen the "Masquerade Ball" as the Prom theme and among all venues "Bellevue" located at the elevated area of Diversion Road of Davao City is the best place suited for the theme. The venue displays dramatic and electrifying lights of the foot of Mt. Apo as a backdrop. This is a function hall with a huge dance floor situated on the top of a hill. The ambiance and the panoramic view of evening lights combine to give a pampered feeling of elegance. You will really be mesmerized by the spectacular view. Elevated above the city, Bellevue is a magical setting with a glamorous atmosphere best for our event. ☝️☝️☝️ WHO CAN GO TO THE PROM? Any KCILA High School Junior Student. Students who didn't incur any violation of School Policies. Therefore, probationary students are not allowed to attend, not unless considered by the School Directress. ☝️☝️☝️️WHAT ARE THE IMPORTANT THINGS EVERY PARENT SHOULD REMEMBER DURING THE PROM? Parents are to ensure appropriate supervision of their children. Even for “good enough” children who tend to stay out of trouble, prom night can be a time of increased peer pressure and more plentiful opportunities for bad decisions. To avoid further problems, parents are required to bring their child to the venue and fetch them after the event. In cases that the child is allowed to go to the venue on their own, a letter of consent signed by the parent or guardian is required. Parent/ Guardian should personally submit the consent letter to the School Directress or the OIC before the said event. However, the school will provide a free shuttle for the students who submitted consent letters from their parents/guardian. Shuttle destination is from Kids Camp Diwata Street going to Bellevue and Bellevue back to KCILA. Shuttle schedule will start running at 4:00 PM (1st Batch) and 4:30 pm (Second Batch) The Prom starts at 5:30 p.m., and will end at 9:00pm. ☝️☝️☝️IS THERE ANYTHING THAT PARENTS CAN DO?
Yes! First, make sure your child has the Permission Slip (this was already given) filled out and signed by you and they bring it to school prior to the event. Students will not be given ticket if they do not have this form signed by their parents! Tickets will be distributed 2 days prior to the Prom Night (March 1, 2017- Wednesday). Second, parents of the attendees should personally claim the tickets from the Non- Acad coordinator so we could discuss policies of the event. Lastly, we would appreciate if parents would allocate time for this event just to chaperon your student. We require you to bring them to the venue and fetch them after the event. ☝️☝️ ☝️FOR PARENTS WHO WILL NOT BE ACCOMPANYING THEIR CHILD- How will the school know if your child has arrived home after the Prom? We request the parent of any student who has not arrived home one hour after the end of the Prom Night or by 10:00PM to call or txt us through our Mobile No. 0939-9282270. Calls will be expected at approximately 10:00 to 11:00PM. So, if we don't get a call from you, this means your child has arrived home safely.

Early development of reading skills is essential, and efforts should be made to identify children with reading disabilities and implement interventions at an early age. Here in Kids Camp we believe that it is important to identify students who have significant difficulty associating sounds with letters by the end of kindergarten and those who cannot read should be evaluated for the source of their reading difficulties. The school creates a program of intervention for identified students who have higher risk of reading difficulties. Individualized instruction to increase phonologic awareness, decoding skills, sight word vocabulary, and reading comprehension are the main focus of this program. We have been doing this assessment ever since the school was founded and every year our School Directress Ma'am Sharon handles the said program herself. For SY 2016-'17 we are humbled of the result of the Reading Evaluation. We are honored to announce that 90% of the total population of preschoolers at KidsCamp are readers. To God be the glory!!! Congratulations Preschool Department teachers, students and parents!
