The ARTEI XI 2nd Teacher Education Students’ Summit 2026 successfully concluded with a fun and meaningful afternoon program.
The session started with CHED updates from Dr. Evelyn Ecle, who shared CHED’s support for first-time applicants.
Exciting competitions followed as schools showcased their talent and teamwork.

The Scholarships for Staff and Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) is now accepting applications!
The program offers scholarships to Higher Education Institution (HEI) teaching and non-teaching personnel who are seeking advanced studies in identified universities and colleges in the Philippines.
Successful applicants will receive financial privileges including tuition and fees, stipend and research allowance until degree completion.
Interested applicants must be nominated by their Sending Higher Education Institutions (SHEIs) and must submit all documentary requirements before the prescribed deadline.

CNU’s Dr. Dayagbil takes helm of CHED-7
Former Cebu Normal University (CNU) president and one of the most esteemed educators, Dr. Filomena Dayagbil, steps into a key leadership role as the newly designated regional director of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VII.
Dr. Dayagbil succeeds Dr. Maura Consolacion Cristobal, who has been reassigned to CHED Region III.
A pillar of CNU’s College of Teacher Education, Dr. Dayagbil has long been recognized for her academic excellence and steady leadership. She holds the distinction of being a University Professor, the highest academic rank in the institution—an honor shared by only one other faculty member in the entire university.
As she takes on her new mandate at CHED Region VII beginning November 24, CNU extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Dayagbil, confident that her leadership will bring renewed energy and vision to higher education across the region.

What a successful event! We witnessed how excellent leaders empower not only others but also themselves.
Held last September 10 at Sunny Point Function Plaza, Davao City, the 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐮𝐦 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 brought together empowered school leaders who share the same goal—strengthening education for a better world.

First Teacher Education Students' Summit 2025 Held in Tagum City
On April 24, 2025, the First Teacher Education Students' Summit 2025 was successfully held at the New City Hall of Tagum Atrium, carrying the theme: "Sustainability in Practice: Experiential Learning for Teacher Education."
The summit began with two insightful morning sessions led by distinguished guest speakers. Dr. Reynaldo C. Castro delivered an engaging presentation on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while Mr. Eric John G. Emberda discussed the Responsible Use of AI in Education. Their thought-provoking insights inspired future educators to innovate and lead with purpose, responsibility, and integrity.
In the afternoon, Dr. Evelyn S. Ecle shared key updates from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), highlighting the latest developments and programs in Teacher Education.
The excitement continued with the Literary Music Contest, which showcased student creativity and academic excellence through a variety of competitions, including Poster Making, Video Mimic, and a Quiz Bee. The winners were as follows:

[𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬]
The Association of Region XI Teacher Education Institutions, Inc. (ARTEI XI), in partnership with CHED RO XI, hosted the Capacity Development Cum General Assembly on September 30, 2024 at The Ritz Hotel, Davao City. The event gathered school managers from Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) in Region XI with the theme Intensifying Teacher Quality and LEPT Performance.
Key speakers included Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo, CHED XI Regional Director, who emphasized institutional and program quality assurance, creation of customized review material, functional feedback systems, and and working admission and retention policies; Dr. Garry C. Cachuela, who discussed the future directions of Teachers Education under RA 11713 and strategies for improving LET performance; and Dr. Evelyn S. Ecle, who reiterated the importance of quality assurance mechanisms crafted by the Technical Panel and the implementation of Joint CHED-DepEd Memorandum No. 1, S. 2021.
The event concluded with a call to strengthen teacher education and improve LEPT results through TEIs coopetition and institutional reforms.
