Holy Cross College of Calinan ROTC Unit

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊|| On 151230H AUGUST 2026, the Holy Cross College of Calinan ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 2nd Training Day of Military Science 1 (MS1) for A.Y. 2026–2027 at Holy Cross College of Calinan Campus.

The day commenced with the checking of attendance and inspection by each platoon at exactly 1230H, followed by classroom instruction by MSg Antonio L Mangagom (Inf) PA. Meanwhile, CDT MAJ JUSTIN P TUGBAC (ROTC) 1CL discussed the General Rules and Regulations in Basic ROTC. Afterwards, the cadets and cadettes performed facing and marching drills. The cadets and cadettes exhibited discipline, teamwork, and precision, showcasing the skills and values they have cultivated throughout their training.

The Training Day ended precisely at 1700H. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to MSg Antonio L Mangagom (Inf) PA, Training NCO; SSg Ed Christian D Lugo (Inf) PA, Chief Clerk; Mr. Francis O Tadtad, NSTP Coordinator; Sgt Rhett G Barena PA (Res), Training NCO; and the GMAs, 1CL, 2CL, and 4CL Officers of HCCC-ROTCU.

The Training Day was successful, and the cadets and cadettes eagerly look forward to another training day.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 || ‎On 060700 August 2026, the Holy Cross College of Calinan ROTC Unit proudly participated in the parade and rendered colors during the celebration of the 𝟳𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 held at the Calinan Gymnasium, Brgy. Calinan Poblacion, Davao City.

‎The activity was honored by the presence of Mr. Francis O. Tadtad, NSTP Coordinator. The Colors were led by CDT MAJ JOHN RENZ NICOLE O GOMERA (ROTC) 1CL as the Color Officer, accompanied by CDT 1LT NOVELEE HASSETH M DALOGDOG (ROTC) 2CL, who bore the Philippine National Flag, and CDT 1LT JEVAN A VELLARINO (ROTC) 2CL, who carried the Barangay Calinan Flag. CDT 1LT SHERWIN B CERBO (ROTC) 2CL and CDT 1LT FRANCIS KEITH O LOZANO (ROTC) 2CL served as the Color Guards. The parade contingent was led by CDT LTC CRISTAL MAE D OCLARIT (ROTC) 1CL, together with the 1CL and 2CL officers, Aspirants, and the former Band Platoon of the HCCC-ROTC Unit.

‎The celebration brought together participants from government agencies, schools, private organizations, and community groups. The parade showcased marching bands and cultural performances that reflected the rich heritage and traditions of the Calinan community.

‎The activity was successfully conducted and highlighted the HCCC-ROTC Unit's commitment to discipline, patriotism, and community service while strengthening its partnership with the local community.

‎On 011300 August 2026, the HCCCROTCU conducted its Military Science 1 Opening Ceremony and Installation of New Corps Commander for A.Y. 2026–2027.

‎The day commenced with the checking of attendance, followed by a briefing and the arrangement of seating to ensure the smooth start of the program, led by the GMAs, 1CL, and 2CL Officers. The program formally started, led by Sgt Mae Ann V Bacquiano PA (Res) and Sgt Daisy Me M Debuyan PA (Res) as the masters of ceremony. The first part consisted of the presentation of ROTC cadets by SSg Ed Christian D Lugo (Inf) PA, followed by the declaration of opening by MAJ WILLIAM JOHN B SANDOVAL (INF) PA. This was succeeded by the Presentation of the Training Staff by Mr. Francis O. Tadtad, NSTP Coordinator. Lastly, MAJ WILLIAM JOHN B SANDOVAL (INF) PA delivered his heartfelt message.

‎The second part of the program took place. CDT LTC CRISTAL MAE D OCLARIT (ROTC) 1CL was officially installed as the new Corps Commander of the Holy Cross College of Calinan ROTC Unit by MAJ WILLIAM JOHN B SANDOVAL (INF) PA, Assistant Commandant, followed by the presentation of the battalion staff and deputies.

The HCCC ROTC Unit extends its sincere appreciation to the HCCC ROTCU Alumni, Training NCOs, GMAs, sponsors, and everyone who contributed to the success of this memorable event.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 || 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐍-𝐔𝐏 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄

On 010700 August 2026, the 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁, in collaboration with the HCCC Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and the Calinan Barangay Council, conducted a Community Clean-Up Drive in preparation for the 𝟳𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 in Calinan, Davao City.

As part of the institution's commitment to community service and nation-building, the activity provided ROTC cadets with an opportunity to demonstrate discipline, teamwork, and volunteerism through meaningful community engagement. Working alongside CWTS students and community stakeholders, the cadets actively contributed to maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the area, reflecting the core values of responsible citizenship and selfless service.

The activity was successfully conducted through the collective efforts and cooperation of all participants. It further strengthened the partnership between the HCCC ROTC Unit, CWTS, and the local community while reinforcing the cadets' dedication to environmental stewardship, civic responsibility, and public service.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 || On 251300 July 2026, the 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 hosted the 𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗣 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 for A.Y. 2026–2027 at the Holy Cross College of Calinan Covered Court.

The orientation was attended by 𝟮𝗟𝗧 𝗝𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗛𝗢 𝗠 𝗚𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗘 𝗣𝗔, Guest Speaker and HCCC ROTCU Alumnus, 𝗦𝗦𝗴 𝗘𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗗 𝗟𝘂𝗴𝗼 (𝗜𝗻𝗳) 𝗣𝗔, Chief Clerk, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀 𝗢. 𝗧𝗮𝗱𝘁𝗮𝗱, NSTP Coordinator, HCCC ROTCU Alumni, GMAs, together with the 1CL and 2CL Officers.

The unit successfully conducted a meaningful orientation featuring the presentation of ROTC uniforms, an overview of the CWTS Program, an impressive Fancy Drill Presentation, and an orientation on the ROTC Program, highlighting its history, objectives, benefits, and opportunities in developing future leaders and responsible citizens.

The NSTP Orientation not only promoted the ROTC Program but also inspired and encouraged students to uphold the values of Honor, Patriotism, and Duty, while fostering discipline, leadership, and a genuine commitment to serve the nation.
