In our sleepless nights, we struggle yet strive,
to chase our dreams that keep hopes alive.
For every effort we exert, let us rise and fight.
Our sacrifices sown will then yield their light.
Through the struggles we have faced and doubts addressed,
may we find common answers to those distress.
Gathering hopes to keep our progress,
may all our sacrifices turn into success.

Kahalintulad ng isang paru-parong nagbabago ng anyo;
Pagkat hindi man kumpleto, ala-ala niyo'y palaging buo at totoo.

Today, the Catholic Church celebrates All Saintโs Day, which is held every 1st of November and the first Sunday after the Pentecost. It is a day where all the saints of the church commemorate and honor their deeds, teachings, and inspirational stories who are now in heaven. It was established by Pope Gregory III, also known as โAll Hallowsโ Day.โ
All Saints' Day was formally started by Pope Boniface IV, who consecrated the Pantheon at Rome to the Virgin Mary and all the Martyrs on May 13, 609 AD. Boniface IV also established All Souls' Day, which follows All Saints.
In the Philippines, the celebration of the said feast is not just about honoring known and unknown saints; it is also the time for them to remember deceased family members and friends who passed away. It is a public holiday, which means there is no school or work on this day. As their tradition, people come to their respective cemeteries as they clean graves, attend solemn mass, and prepare necessities including candles, foods, and tents together with the family members in preparation for the โAll Souls Day.โ
Let's remember all the important saints who have influenced our religion and ask for intercession by requesting help with our studies and even personal needs.
Have a blessed Halloween and All Saintsโ Day to all, TUPCians!

TUPC Grayhawks Soar Past SLC Sailors to Grab First Win in the Tournament
The TUPC Grayhawks secured their first victory in the DCAA tournament with a decisive win over the SLC Sailors, 113-87. The match took place at Ugnayang La Salle, De La Salle University-Dasmarinas, on October 29.
Hungry for a win, the Grayhawks entered the match with a mission to showcase their dominance. They began the game poised to claim their first victory of the season. In the first quarter, star point guard Lance Ramirez led the team in scoring, finishing with 10 points and helping the Grayhawks establish a 24-12 lead.
The Grayhawks continued their strong offensive performance and effective defense in the second quarter, not allowing the Sailors to close the gap. They ended the half with a 47-38 advantage. Despite a commendable effort from Sailors forward Torres, who scored 10 points in the second quarter, it was not enough to overcome the deficit.
The third quarter saw both teams maintaining their strategies. The Grayhawks focused on running the floor and creating space, which resulted in numerous three-point opportunities and transition baskets. Team captain Alpha-Meruz Egamino excelled in three-point shooting, further improving the teamโs spacing. Big men Matthew Jyles Kuan, Joshuanel Golena and Jerome Duban dominated the paint and the boards that allowed the team to double their lead.
In the fourth quarter, fatigue set in for the Sailors, who were limited to just seven players. Transition baskets came easy for the Grayhawks. The Grayhawks effectively shut down Torresโs scoring ability and controlled the game, finishing with a 26-point lead. The Grayhawks offense proved to be balanced as five Grayhawks players scored in double digits during the match.
