Bayanihan Para sa Kalusugan: A Mission for Healthier and Stronger Learners
The Innovators' Club of Anislag National High School proudly extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made the ANHS Brigada Eskwela 2026 Medical and Dental Mission: "Bayanihan Para sa Kalusugan" a meaningful success.
This initiative comes at a crucial time. According to the latest DOST-FNRI survey highlighted by EDCOM 2, the Philippines' child stunting rate has risen to 25.3% in 2025—the first increase in over a decade. This means that approximately one in every four Filipino children under five suffers from chronic malnutrition, a condition now classified as a high public health concern.
Stunting is more than a matter of height. Research shows that chronic malnutrition during a child's early years can impair brain development, language acquisition, memory, concentration, and readiness to learn. Children who enter school malnourished often face disadvantages in literacy, numeracy, and overall academic achievement, making it harder for them to reach their full potential.
Through the collective efforts of our healthcare professionals, partner organizations, sponsors, school administrators, teachers, student volunteers, and community stakeholders, hundreds of learners, parents, and residents received free medical and dental consultations, health education, preventive care, and referrals for further treatment.
Although a single medical mission cannot solve malnutrition on its own, it serves as an important step toward early detection of health concerns, promoting proper nutrition, preventing disease, and encouraging families to prioritize children's health—because healthier children are better prepared to learn and succeed in school.
The Innovators' Club extends its deepest gratitude to Kairos, FEBC Bicol/CARE 104.3 DWAY FM, the Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center (BRHMC) Public Health Unit and Medical Team, our volunteer therapists, TOG 5, NAVFORSOL, Dios Mabalos Po Foundation, I Am Barley, and to everyone who generously shared their time, expertise, and resources in making this mission possible.
Collectively, we demonstrated that education begins long before the first lesson in the classroom. By investing in children's health today, we contribute to the development of stronger learners, healthier children and brighter futures for generations to come.
Thank you to everyone who was part of this medical and dental mission. Until the next Bayanihan Para sa Kalusugan!
