The Philippines had approximately 113,369 deaths from all cancers in 2022.Approximately 1% of all cancer deaths in the Philippines in 2022 were attributed to bladder cancer.It was 18th in mortality among cancer sites in the Philippines.Globally, however, bladder cancer ranks 9th for incidence and 13th for mortality.

Risk factors in bladder cancer include:
๐Ÿ‘‰Recurrent bacterial UTI
๐Ÿ‘‰High cholesterol intake
๐Ÿ‘‰Pelvic radiation
๐Ÿ‘‰Environmental carcinogens, including certain dyes
๐Ÿ‘‰Smoking

Symptoms of bladder cancer include visible painless hematuria, infection, dysuria, and frequency. Pelvic and back pain are common with metastasis.

Diagnostic tests include cystoscopy, CT scan., biopsy, and ultrasonography. Management of the client with bladder cancer depends on the grade, degree of local invasion, and client's age as well as physical and mental status.

The thyroid gland is a butterfly shaped gland located anteriorly to the trachea. The purpose of the thyroid gland is to produce, store, and release hormones into the bloodstream. The thyroid gland depends on the uptake of _______________________ to synthesize its hormones. The hormones T3 and T4 are responsible for the regulation of body metabolism (brain development, breathing, heart rate, temperature, and the nervous system) (NIDDK, 2010). The production of T3 and T4 is regulated by the release of TSH from the anterior pituitary gland.
Thyroid disorders are classified as hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, tumors, cancer, or goiter.

A patient arrives at a private medical clinic for a scheduled consultation. Upon entry, the medical receptionist instructs the patient to wait in the designated waiting area and hands the patient a registration form to complete. The receptionist verbally reminds the patient to remain seated while waiting for their name to be called.

However, the patient notices the consultation room door slightly open and assumes the doctor is already available. Without confirming with the receptionist, the patient stands up and walks toward the consultation area. At the same time, the clinic hallway floor had just been cleaned, and a โ€œWet Floorโ€ caution sign was visibly placed near the entrance by the receptionist.

The patient, while looking at their mobile phone, fails to notice the warning sign and slips on the wet floor, sustaining a minor injury.

As Typhoon Tino brings continuous rainfall and flooding, nurses are reminding communities to take extra precautions, since prolonged exposure to contaminated floodwater can increase the risk of leptospirosis.
Leptospirosis is a blood infection caused by bacteria of the genus Leptospira that can infect humans, dogs, rodents, and many other wild and domesticated animals. Signs and symptoms can range from none to mild to severe.

Amid the floods and destruction, they lost not only their homes and belongings, but also their school and duty uniforms, symbols of their hard work, dedication, and dreams to serve.

HIV life cycle.
Currently one of the most widely publicized diseases, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is marked by progressive failure of the immune system. Although itโ€™s characterized by gradual destruction of cell-mediated (T-cell) immunity, it also affects humoral immunity and even autoimmunity because of the central role of the CD4+ T lymphocyte in immune reactions. The resultant immunodeficiency makes the patient susceptible to opportunistic infections, unusual cancers, and other abnormalities that define AIDS.
