TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
β’ Heavy rainfall, severe winds, and storm surge may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to hoisted Wind Signals and the βOther Hazards affecting Land Areasβ section for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone.
β’ TINO is forecast to make landfall or pass very close to Homonhon Island or Dinagat Islands tonight or early tomorrow morning (04 November). It is then expected to make landfall over Leyte or Southern Leyte by early tomorrow morning, before crossing the Visayas and northern Palawan throughout tomorrow and Wednesday (05 November) early morning. The typhoon will likely emerge over the West Philippine Sea by Wednesday morning or afternoon and is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday (06 November) morning.
β’ TINO is forecast make its initial landfall at or near peak intensity (currently forecasted around 140-155 km/h maximum winds with higher gustiness). Rapid intensification before landfall remain likely. While the interaction of the typhoon with the terrain will trigger a slight weakening, TINO is expected to remain at typhoon category throughout its passage over the country.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.
