"Planting Veggies, Saving Tummy"
Many children can be seen neither at their home nor outside smiling and laughing, playing with their friends. However, behind that smile, a sound coming from their tummy, screaming for food to eat, but they cannot have because of lack of resources such as rice, viand, or any kind of food due to poverty. Poverty is one of the big factors why malnutrition remains a persistent challenge in the Philippines, affecting millions of lives, especially among children. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 3 Filipino children under the age of 5 suffers from stunting due to chronic malnutrition. This case becomes alarming because it affects not only their physical growth but also their cognitive development, making it harder for them to reach their full potential. Additionally, malnutrition increases the risk of illnesses, infections, worsening, and death. That is why we should take action and work together to address the root causes of malnutrition, support initiatives that promote nutrition education, and provide access to nutritious food for all. Together, we can build a healthier, brighter future for every Filipino!
