Official letters of invitation from the AB ELS Program Chairperson will be distributed to the awardees and their parents/guardians through the Year Level Advisers.

Last Saturday, the AB English Language Studies (ELS) junior students who will be completing their internship outside the province of Camarines Norte were formally deployed by our SIPP Coordinator, Ms. Nikka Marie Francisco-Carmona.

For their industry immersion, the students will be assigned to 𝐆𝐍𝐍 𝐓𝐕𝟒𝟖 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐚 and 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐁𝐏𝐎 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 in Naga City, Camarines Sur, which will serve as their Host Training Establishments (HTEs).

The deployment activity was also attended by BS Development Communication SIPP Coordinator, Ms. Jovelyn Cacho, together with the interns from the said program.

As they begin this important phase of their academic journey, may this experience provide them with valuable learning opportunities, professional growth, and meaningful industry exposure.

As part of its commitment to holistic student development, the English Language Studies (ELS) Department, in partnership with the Development Communication Department, successfully conducted the 𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫-𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 (𝐏𝐄𝐍: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦, 𝐄𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠) on June 8–9 via Zoom Conference.

Now on its second year, PEN continues to equip future interns with the knowledge, skills, and professional mindset necessary for meaningful workplace engagement. The initiative was pioneered by 𝐒𝐈𝐏𝐏 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐬. 𝐍𝐢𝐤𝐤𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨-𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐚, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐬. 𝐉𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐨, and was facilitated by selected AB ELS and BS DevCom students.

The two-day virtual conference featured discussions on internship processes and requirements, professional communication, workplace etiquette and conduct, responsible digital citizenship, and the legal provisions related to safe spaces and data privacy.

With the SIPP Coordinators serving as prime movers and the Host Training Establishment (HTE) representatives actively participating, PEN Year 2 became more than a preparatory seminar. It served as a valuable platform for capacity-building, mentorship, professional networking, and meaningful collaboration between students and industry partners.

As another batch of interns prepares to embark on their professional journey, PEN remains a testament to the departments’ shared commitment to producing competent, ethical, and workplace-ready graduates.

Following the planning meeting of the ELS Faculty and shared faculty members from the Development Communication Department in May, the ELS Program Chairperson and AEM Adviser, Ms. Marianne Jalgalado, convened the outgoing set of AEM Officers on June 1.

The meeting focused on the preparations for the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭-𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐁 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 (𝐄𝐋𝐒) 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 — a milestone initiative aimed at celebrating their achievements in the areas of academics, student governance, research, extension services, the arts, and sports.
