CNSC congratulates Dr. Girly H. Naval, Director of the Extension Services Division and faculty member of the College of Business and Public Administration, for being recognized with the Best Paper during the 1st International Public Administration and Indigenous Governance Exchange last June 11–12, 2026.
Dr. Naval received the award for her institutionally funded research paper titled “Embedded Markets and Indigenous Economics Agency: Institutional Dynamics of the Manide Community’s Market Participants in Camarines Norte”.
Dr. Naval's study contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing a deeper understanding of how the Manide community navigates market participation while preserving its cultural identity, social institutions, and indigenous economic practices. By examining the institutional dynamics and embedded nature of economic exchanges within the community, the research generates insights that can guide policymakers, development practitioners, and local government units in designing more culturally responsive and inclusive interventions. Such understanding helps prevent development approaches that inadvertently erode indigenous traditions, while promoting equitable access to economic opportunities. Ultimately, the study supports SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by advancing inclusive development that recognizes indigenous agency, safeguards cultural heritage, and enhances the welfare, dignity, and sustainable growth of the Manide people as an integral part of Philippine society and culture.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) and the Local Government Unit of Daet formalized their partnership through a memorandum of agreement signing held earlier today at the Office of the Mayor in Barangay Pamorangón, Daet, Camarines Norte.
Leading the LGU Daet was Municipal Mayor Rossano “Ronie” C. Valencia, while CNSC was represented by SUC President III Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, DPA; Prof. Rosalie A. Almadrones, PhD; Dr. Gehana D. Lamug, Dean of the College of Business and Public Administration (CBPA); and Project SKILLS lead implementers Mr. Crisanto S. Ramirez, MBA, and Ms. Frances Noegeline P. Manila, MBA.

Christy, faculty member of the College of Education, for being recognized with the Best Research Presentation during the Capacity Building Training-Workshop on Artificial Intelligence in the Research Process Integrating Ethics, Efficient Data Analysis, and Presentation of Research Outputs in Research, Invention, and Extension held via Zoom Video Conferencing last May 29–31, 2026.
Dr. Christy received the award for his institutionally funded research paper titled “Nutritional Practices and Physical Activity Engagement of Grade 7 Students of Kabatuhan Integrated School in Labo, Camarines Norte”.
Dr. Christy's study provides valuable information that may help Camarines Norte State College strengthen its extension programs and health-related initiatives, while assisting Kabatuhan Integrated School in developing evidence-based strategies that promote proper nutrition and active lifestyles among students. The findings also emphasize the importance of strong support from stakeholders, particularly parents, teachers, school administrators, and community members, in fostering healthy behaviors among learners. Furthermore, the study serves as a foundation for future research and collaborative interventions aimed at improving student well-being, academic performance, and overall quality of life.

NSC congratulates Ms. Maryjane B. Dypianco, MAEd, Head of the Sports Development Office and faculty member of the College of Education, for being recognized as Best Research Paper Presenter during the 2026 International Physical Education Convention held on May 5–9, 2026 at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), Davao City.
Ms. Dypianco received the award for her research paper titled “Bachelor of Physical Education Students’ Engagement in Sports Management and Sports Officiating Activities: An Analysis,” which examined the involvement and competencies of BPEd students in sports management and officiating-related activities.
Her study carries a significant impact in strengthening Physical Education instruction and student development by identifying the gap between students’ strong interest in sports leadership and their limited actual participation in sports management and officiating activities. Through its findings, the research provided a foundation for developing structured interventions such as mentorship programs, skills training workshops, practicum opportunities, and curriculum enhancement initiatives aimed at improving students’ competencies, confidence, and readiness for future leadership and officiating roles in the field.

The Camarines Norte State College (CNSC), through the Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension (VPRE) and the Queen Pineapple Research and Development Institute (QPRDI), in partnership with the Tropical Fruit Network (TFNet), the Philippine Fruit Association (PFA), and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), and the Department of Agriculture – Region V is set to host the 2𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒆 2026 (𝑰𝑪𝒐𝑷 2026) on 𝑺𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 8-10, 2026 at the 𝑪𝑵𝑺𝑪 𝑴𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒖𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝑫𝒂𝒆𝒕, 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒆, 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔.

Carrying the theme, “Pineapple Response to Innovative Farming Technologies, Resource Optimization, and Climate Challenges for Better Harvest and Global Profitability,” the international congress aims to gather researchers, scientists, industry leaders, farmers, policymakers, academicians, agricultural practitioners, and development partners from various countries to exchange knowledge, present research breakthroughs, and discuss emerging trends and innovations in the pineapple industry.

The three-day congress will serve as a platform for collaborative dialogue and interdisciplinary engagement focused on sustainable pineapple production, climate resilience, value chain enhancement, technological innovation, resource optimization, and global market competitiveness. Through plenary sessions, scientific presentations, research discussions, and networking activities, participants are expected to contribute meaningful insights and strategic recommendations that will support the advancement of the pineapple sector both locally and internationally.

Distinguished experts and renowned professionals from the fields of agriculture, research, agribusiness, and food innovation are expected to serve as plenary speakers and resource persons during the event. Their participation is envisioned to enrich discussions and inspire stakeholders toward developing adaptive and sustainable solutions for the future of pineapple farming and industry development.

As one of the Philippines’ emerging hubs for agricultural research and innovation, CNSC continues to strengthen its commitment to promoting international collaboration, research excellence, community engagement, and sustainable development through initiatives such as ICoP 2026.
