Manuangan ES Flex: Creativity, Teamwork Take Center Stage

Creativity, teamwork, and healthy competition took center stage as learners, parents, and teachers of Manuangan Elementary School showcased talents during the culmination of the 2026 Nutrition Month Celebration today.

The school grounds came alive with exciting events, including the Cooking Contest, Booth Display Contest, Poster Making Contest, and Slogan Making Contest, where learners and parents creatively demonstrated the importance of proper nutrition, healthy eating, and environmental responsibility, depicting this year's theme: β€œSa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat," with the sub-theme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!"

Beyond the contests, the celebration reflected the power of collaboration. Parents worked side by side with their children, offering unwavering support in preparing nutritious dishes and eye-catching booth displays. Strong Community Support Marks Manuangan ES Nutrition Culmination; Mayor Agustin Affirms Education as LGU's Top Priority

Strong community support from parents, Local Government Unit (LGU), Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), and other stakeholders, highlighted by the presence of Mayor Juanito 'Totoy' Agustin, marked the culmination of the 2026 Nutrition Month Celebration of Manuangan Elementary School today.
The event brought together learners, teachers, parents, and community leaders in a united effort to promote proper nutrition, healthy living, and quality education through meaningful activities and community participation.
Addressing the gathering, Mayor Agustin emphasized that education remains one of the municipality's foremost priorities.
"Number one priority naton ang education," he said, noting that the local government continues to provide free schooling and school supplies to help ensure that every child has access to education regardless of financial status.
While underscoring the importance of education, the mayor stressed that good health is equally essential to every learner's success.
"Bisan ano ka-eskwela kung kita hindi healthy, wala gihapon," Agustin said, reminding learners that academic excellence can only be fully achieved when they are physically healthy.
He encouraged pupils to eat nutritious food, develop healthy habits, and maintain an active lifestyle. He also urged parents to continue guiding their children in making healthy food choices, emphasizing that good nutrition begins at home and is strengthened through the partnership of families, schools, and the community.
The BLGU, headed by Barangay Chairman Rodrigo V. UΓ±as, likewise demonstrated its unwavering support by participating in the celebration and continuing its collaboration with the school on programs that promote children's health, nutrition, and overall well-being.

MES Launches School-Based Feeding Program;
School Community Unites to Strengthen Program Implementation

In line with the simultaneous division-wide launching by the SDO Cotabato, Manuangan Elementary School (MES) officially launched its School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) on Monday, July 20, at the MES Covered Court, bringing together teachers, parents, learners, and community stakeholders in a collective effort to strengthen the program's implementation and improve learners' nutritional status.
A total of 90 learners will benefit from this year's implementation, which has been expanded to include all Kindergarten and Grade 1 pupils, while identified Grade 2 to Grade 6 learners classified as wasted and severely wasted based on the school's nutritional assessment will continue to receive nutritional support.
"Paano matututo ang isang bata kung walang laman ang kanyang tiyan? Sa pamamagitan ng School-Based Feeding Program, hindi lamang natin pinapakain ang ating mga mag-aaral kundi binibigyan din natin sila ng pagkakataong matuto nang mas mabuti, maging malusog, at maabot ang kanilang buong potensyal. Ang tagumpay ng programang ito ay nakasalalay sa sama-samang pagtutulungan ng paaralan, mga magulang, at buong komunidad," School Principal Rogen A. Gallano underscored the significance of the initiative, emphasizing that proper nutrition is fundamental to effective learning.
Following the launching ceremony, parents of the beneficiaries attended an orientation on the program's guidelines and formed groups to assist the school in the effective implementation and monitoring of the feeding program throughout the school year.
"Full force ang PTA sa pagsuporta sa implementasyon sang School-Based Feeding Program. Magbuligay kita agud mahatagan sang masustansya kag maayong pagkaon ang aton mga kabataan. Kon nagabinuligay ang eskwelahan, mga ginikanan, kag komunidad, masigurado naton nga mangin malampuson ini nga programa para sa kaayuhan sang aton mga bata," PTA President, Mary Jane T. Dapal-ag likewise affirmed the parents' commitment to supporting the initiative, emphasizing that the Parent-Teacher Association will remain an active partner in ensuring the program's success.
Through the strong collaboration of the school, parents, and community stakeholders, Manuangan Elementary School hopes to sustain the successful implementation of the program, ensuring that every beneficiary receives proper nourishment to support better health, improved school attendance, and enhanced learning outcomes.
