History Lives On Campus: OVP Exhibit Kicks Off at Coland
Today, July 21, 2026, Coland Systems Technology Inc. officially launched the "EXTRA+Ordinary: The Vice Presidents of the Philippines" Pop-Up Exhibit at its Sports and Socio-Cultural Complex in celebration of the 90th Anniversary of the Office of the Vice President (OVP). The event brought together student leaders from eight organizations, their advisers, and guests to learn about the history, roles, and contributions of the country's Vice Presidents through interactive and educational displays.
The program opened with welcoming remarks from the School President Engr. Rige Mae J. Muesco, who expressed the school's honor in hosting the exhibit and emphasized the importance of educational programs that strengthen civic responsibility and leadership among students. Following the opening program, representatives from the Office of the Vice President and invited guests formally inaugurated the exhibit through a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
"We are bringing this collection to key cities across the country because history does not belong in archives. It belongs to the Filipino people. Thank you for helping us bring this experience directly to our community, proving that the values of duty and leadership are alive in every leader our students need." โ Vice President Sara Duterte
The exhibit features interactive displays, historical information, educational trivia, and visual presentations highlighting the lives, contributions, and challenges of the country's former Vice Presidents. Organizers explained that the project seeks to make Philippine history more accessible while encouraging young Filipinos to recognize the importance of public service and responsible leadership. The exhibit will remain open on campus through August, giving Colandians the opportunity to explore the nation's political heritage beyond the classroom.
"Our history proves that any Filipino can lead. We only need courage and a sense of duty. Let this exhibit remind you that you, too, can lead our nation as you travel across the archipelago. Mahal natin ang Pilipinas para sa Diyos, sa bayan, at sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino." โ Vice President Sara Duterte
The event concluded with students, faculty members, and guests touring the exhibit and engaging with its educational displays, leaving participants with a deeper appreciation of the country's history and the enduring values of leadership and public service.
