Last October 17, 2015 the Islamic Development Bank Graduates Association Team Philippines in cooperation with the Bangsamoro Communication Network Inc., ECE Pharma and Pascual Pharma Corp. had conducted a Prostate Cancer Awareness at D&M Restaurant, Cotabato City. The said activity was attended by 50 male participants. The objective of the activity was to impart an awareness and knowledge to our brothers regarding Prostate Health and to provide a free screening to those who are at risk of developing prostate cancer.
The activity was headed by Dr. Muhamad Siddik Dimalen, IGA Vice President. He served as a lecturer and did the screening which is the Digital Re**al Exam to the 26 participants. In his lecture he explained thoroughly to the participants the causes, signs and symptoms, risk factors, complications and treatments of prostate cancer and how to prevent it. Everyone seems to be interested with the topic. During the open forum, the participants were very eager to ask questions regarding with the topic and Dr. Dimalen was very willing to answer all of them. After the open forum, Dr. Dimalen started the screening. He did the Digital Re**al Exam to the participants. It is an exam done to detect abnormalities that can be felt (palpated) from within the re**um. The doctor inserts a lubricated, gloved finger into the re**um and feels for anything that is not normal. He also rendered a free consultation and gave free medicines.
Through the teamwork of each and everyone, the donors, the facilitators, the volunteers and the utmost, Allah (SWT) the activities were successful. May Allah (S.W.T.) grant everybody the blessings and rewards for the good deeds done.
