Proper Turnover of a Minor Child | Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC) The Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer (OCSWDO), through the Child Welfare Section headed by Sir Zainudin K. Samid, successfully facilitated the proper turnover of a minor client to the Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC).
Following the turnover, a case conference was conducted with the participation of the RSCC management, social workers, and other concerned partners to ensure a smooth transition and continuous support for the child. The discussion focused on the child’s current situation, immediate needs, concerns, intervention plans, and the responsibilities of each agency involved. Through coordination and teamwork, all parties reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the child’s welfare and ensuring that appropriate care and support are provided.
The OCSWDO remains committed to working closely with partner agencies in delivering responsive and child-centered services that promote the safety, well-being, and development of every child.

Happy Filipino Social Workers' Day!

The Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer (OCSWDO), through its Special Social Services Section (SSSS) successfully conducted a Senior Citizens Advocacy Activity at Barangay Rosary Heights 1, Rosary Heights 8 and Bagua 3 in collaboration with the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of the Philippines (FSCAP), and the MSSD Social Pension (SocPen) Focal Person.
The activity aimed to provide senior citizens with important information on programs, services, benefits, and policies designed to promote their welfare and well-being. It also served as a platform to strengthen awareness of the rights of older persons and encourage their active participation in community development.
OCSWDO remains committed to ensuring that senior citizens are informed, empowered, and supported through accessible social welfare services and meaningful community engagement.

The Office of the City Social Welfare and Development (OCSWDO), through its Child Welfare Section, successfully conducted a Community Rollout on Child Protection at Barangay Poblacion VII, Cotabato City.
The activity aimed to raise awareness and strengthen community participation in promoting and protecting the rights and welfare of children. Through this initiative, residents were provided with valuable information on child protection policies, prevention of child abuse and exploitation, and the shared responsibility of creating a safe and nurturing environment for every child.
The OCSWDO remains committed to empowering communities and advocating for the protection and well-being of children across Cotabato City.
This activity is carried out in partnership with CFSI and UNICEF, with funding support from KOICA.

The Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer (OCSWDO) through its Crisis Intervention and Disaster Relief Operation (CIDRO), conducted monitoring and provided immediate assistance to families in Barangay Kalanganan Mother, Cotabato City who were displaced by the recent earthquake and rising water levels. Recognizing the vulnerabilities faced by affected families during times of crisis, our team remained committed to ensuring their safety, well-being, and access to essential support services. Through coordinated emergency response efforts, we assessed urgent needs, facilitated timely interventions, and provided assistance aimed at helping families cope with the immediate impacts of the disaster.

ENHANCEMENT TRAINING ON EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND DEVELOPMENT (ECCD)
The Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer (OCSWDO) through its Day Care section conducted the Enhancement Training for Daycare Workers and SNP Workers on Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) on May 29 and June 1–3, 2026, at El Comedor, Cotabato City.
This training aimed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and competencies of our Daycare and SNP Workers in providing quality care, protection, and early learning experiences for young children. Through various discussions, workshops, and learning activities, participants were equipped with updated strategies and approaches to support the holistic growth and development of children in their communities.

The Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer, through the Crisis Intervention and Disaster Relief Operations Section, conducted family tracing for a female client found wandering in Rosary Heights 3. The client, who is pregnant, was initially referred by barangay officials to the Philippine National Police (PNP) and was subsequently endorsed to the Office for appropriate intervention. Due to observed manifestations of a mental health condition, the client was brought to the Mental Health Unit of Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) for assessment, where she was administered medication as part of her immediate management.
Through coordination and verification, it was determined that the client is a resident of Barangay Limbo, Sultan Kudarat, and had left her home without informing her family, who had been actively searching for her. The client was safely transported to the Barangay Hall of Barangay Limbo, Sultan Kudarat for proper turnover and reunification with her family.
