𝐂𝐓𝐔-𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲

CTU-Consolacion has expanded the reach of 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗚𝗨𝗚𝗠𝗔 (𝘎𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘜𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘈𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯), a community initiative that seeks to enhance literacy and reading comprehension, improve mathematical skills, strengthen the foundation of Filipino language skills, and promote youth development. The project was formally established through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony held at the university gymnasium on September 6, 2025.

Project GUGMA features four key components: 𝗚𝗨𝗚𝗠𝗔 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗮, 𝗚𝗨𝗚𝗠𝗔 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗸𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮, 𝗚𝗨𝗚𝗠𝗔 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗨𝗚𝗠𝗔 𝘀𝗮 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗮. These programs are implemented in partnership with Tayud Elementary School, Tayud National High School, Jugan Elementary School, Jugan National High School, and their respective local government units.

With that, we have successfully completed Phase 1 of our fifteen-week outreach program, GUGMA (Giving Unconditional Goodness and Magnanimous Affection). Dedicated volunteers and tutors, grateful beneficiaries, the program’s extension chairperson, and the ever-supportive instructors of CTU-CC once again came together to celebrate a meaningful closing and recognition ceremony.

It was a meaningful event as it was filled with fun, laughter, realizations, and love. As the ceremony went on, it became a touching moment of reflection for everyone involved. Many of our tutors came to realize the deep and lasting fulfillment that comes from serving others through teaching. A few of our tutors had a chance to speak on behalf of the other tutors, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the chance to be part of the learning journey of our beneficiaries. They shared how simply witnessing the students’ smiles, their eagerness to learn, and their small improvements and victories was more than enough to inspire them to keep going. And above all, it was the quiet but sincere “thank you’s” from the beneficiaries that made every effort, every hour spent during Saturday sessions, and every challenge faced truly worthwhile. It was a beautiful reminder that in giving, we often receive even more.

Truly, Project GUGMA lived up to its name, as it is not just a program but a chance to give love, build connections, and create memories that we will never forget.
