February 04, 2026|| DRUG AWARENESS AND PREVENTION SYMPOSIUM
"Knowledge is power. Prevention starts with awareness."
Today, our secondary learners of Sacpil National High School took part in a meaningful Drug Awareness Symposium aimed at educating, empowering, and inspiring them to make healthy and responsible life choices.
Through an informative discussion and open discussions by PDEA-Apayao Agent OSLO SELISANA, the learners gained a deeper understanding of the dangers of drug abuse, the importance of self-discipline, and the value of saying NO to drugs and YES to a brighter future. He ended his discussion by sharing the formula to win against illegal drugs with an acronym for "NO DRUGS = Success"
N-urture your dreams
O-bey the authorities
D-on't even think about it
R - resist negative peer pressure
U-se healthy alternatives
G-od is the answer
S-say NO!
Representatives from the Office of the Municipal Mayor, Sir B**g Seguro and Rev. Darius Chokowen were also present during the symposium. Sir B**g encouraged the learners to study well and become law abiding citizens of their Barangay Sacpil. Meanwhile, Rev. Chokowen also shared the acronym DEAD - Drugs Ends All Dreams to encourage the learners to choose wisely, stay strong, and protect their dreams with God's protection and guidance. He also reminded the learners to value their life and adhere to the road safety rules.
Meanwhile, Nurse Juan Palattao, the district nurse of Northern Conner District, also mentioned about the division's initiative of protecting the overall health of the yApayao learners through its Project TANIB which consists of different packages that schools may avail and implement.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Provincial Government of Apayao for initiating this activity which aimed at guiding our youth toward informed decisions and positive pathways. Likewise, to LGU-Conner for the strengthened partnership in providing support to education. Together, we continue to build a safe, drug-free, and supportive learning community.
