Diocesan Commission on Evangelization & Catechesis โ€“ Diocese of Tarlac

A meaningful and inspiring gathering of catechists as we gathered together in faith, service, and love for the ministry. ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

We were blessed to hear the inspiring words of Most Rev. Bishop Roberto C. Mallari, reminding us, โ€œDo not be afraid. The Holy Spirit is with you.โ€ These words gave us strength and courage in our journey as catechists. Indeed, nothing is impossible with God. Like Mary, may we always say, โ€œLet it be done to me according to your word.โ€

Rev. Fr. Manolito Santos, Episcopal Vicar for Integral Formation & Pastoral Affairs, reminded us that our catechetical ministry must be orderly, coherent, and thorough. We are called to know and understand both Sacred Scripture and Oral Tradition, recognizing that our formation as catechists and evangelization are lifelong processes.

Rev. Fr. Gerald Cortes, Director of the Commission on Evangelization and Catechesis, introduced the Coat of Arms of the Diocesan Commission and shared the current status and plans of the Commission. Most importantly, he reminded us: โ€œYou need to love the ministry.โ€

We were also inspired by Sr. Maria Luz Diomerez, OP, who reminded us of the great love of God and our calling to be faithful guardians of the faith. May we continue to love, give, and serve, trusting that God will bless and multiply what we generously offer.

May this First General Assembly renew our hearts, strengthen our commitment, and inspire us to continue to evangelize, catechize, and accompany others in their journey of faith.

Last Friday, the Concepcion Catholic School, Inc. community gathered in prayer as Rev. Fr. Romeo Ramos presided over the Holy Mass and blessed our APSTAP athletes and student journalists as they prepared for their respective competitions.

As we come to the final day of the Triduum in honor of St. Dominic de Guzman, we reflect on his life of generous service. Dominic did not keep the fruits of his prayer and contemplation for himself. He shared what he received from God by proclaiming the Gospel and caring for those entrusted to his mission.

His life teaches us that faith is not meant to remain within us. The time we spend with God should move us to serve, to love, and to reach out to others. Our prayers become meaningful when they inspire us to become instruments of God's grace in the lives of those around us.

St. Dominic showed that true service requires humility and a willing heart. He gave himself fully to the mission entrusted to him, seeking not his own glory but the salvation and spiritual growth of others.

Like St. Dominic, we are also called to share the gifts God has given us. Whether through our talents, our time, our kindness, or simple acts of service, we can make God's love known in our families, our school, and our community.

As we conclude this Triduum, may we carry with us the example of St. Dominic: a life rooted in prayer, devoted to truth, and poured out in service to others. May our encounter with God always lead us to become better servants of His people.

Prayer was at the heart of St. Dominic de Guzman's life. Before every mission, every decision, and every act of service, he first turned to God in prayer. It was through this constant communion with the Lord that he found the strength, wisdom, and compassion to faithfully proclaim the Gospel.

St. Dominic understood that true service begins with a heart rooted in prayer. His conversations with God shaped the way he lived, loved, and ministered to others. Even in moments of difficulty, he remained steadfast, placing his complete trust in God's will.

His example reminds us that prayer is more than spoken wordsโ€”it is a living relationship with God. Through prayer, we are strengthened in faith, renewed in hope, and guided to become instruments of His love and peace.

Like St. Dominic, may we make prayer a daily part of our lives, seeking God's guidance in every decision and allowing His presence to shape our thoughts, words, and actions.

Through the intercession of St. Dominic de Guzman, may we grow in our love for prayer and remain faithful to God's call, trusting that He will always lead us according to His perfect will.
